Up for auction is this rare 1942 Willy’s Slat Grille “ Script” jeep. Jeep needs to be restored but is very complete in the way of parts. Has the early war. 70 mph “King Seeley” marked speedometer. The drivers seat has the top seam on the frame. Tool box lids have the two small hinges rather than the later war single hinge. The chassis and tub are matching and all springs are MB. All major parts appear to be matching to this vehicle as issued in 1942….. Tub, Frame, Front fenders, Hood, Grille. I am not a Jeep expert but they appear to all match this one vehicle. Drivers side front fender has the holes for the blackout light that were added during the war and are not factory drilled./produced. Fire extinguisher bracket is still present. The window assembly is from a CJ.. but I do have a wartime window assembly that will go with this Jeep is the buyer desires. Dash does not have a glove box as this is early war. There are a couple of repairs to the hood that look like they were from a wartime water fording test. Most lights are CB marked. Grille is in nice shape and original. The wheels are CJ wheels. There is now a V-6 motor installed( Don’t blame me folks ..I didn’t do it!!). I have no idea if this motor runs. I was going to put an original one in it, but now must let this project go. An MB motor will fit nicely in here and the frame is not cut up. Firewall and fenders are not cut up either. Still has Original radiator. This is a good solid tub!! And the toolboxes are solid inside too!! I think rear seat is original but not sure….it does have the bracket for tire pump. Passenger seat is missing. Transmission is a T90. There are two Data plates on the dash. The Main data plate is missing but the body tag is still on the frame! Serial number is 113486. The date of delivery is January 20, 1942. This is a great jeep for restoration and still has many rare parts in great shape!! Sold "As Is" . Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
