Up for auction is a very nice Frame off restored 1968 SS Chevelle. The car is a true SS car and has the "138" vin code. The car has a non original Chevelle coded 396 engine. The engine started with a standard bore block and was completely gone through. The engine was fitted with a larger camshaft to give it that thumpy muscle car sound while retaining great performance. The engine sounds awesome and performs very strong. The intake is an Edelbrock aluminum unit with a Holley carb, HEI ignition and ceramic coated headers. The transmission is a correct 1968 Muncie 4-speed but is not the one that came in the car, the rear end is a 12 bolt with 3:31 gears. The car is set up to be a very good driver on the highway but will still hold it's own in the performance category. The car was frame off restored approximately 2-3 years ago and has been driven very little since. Both rear quarter panels were replaced during restoration along with one front fender. The car still retains it's original rust free floor pans and trunk pan. The frame was stripped, painted satin black and all of the busheings front and rear were replaced. The interior is in new condition, new carpet, new headliner, new door panels, new seat covers and new weatherstripping etc....... The car is also equipped with tilt steering, a factory wood steering wheel, factory tach and gauge package, all of the gauges work, even the clock. This is a very nice car that is much nicer that your average driver type muscle car. It will show well at local shows and cruise ins but was not restored to be concours judged. Once the car leaves my place the car is yours. I require a $1,000.00 deposit with in 3 days of auction end and the entire transaction to be completed with in 7 days of auction end.
