Here is a 1961 Ford Thunderbird Convertible, offered by The Vault Classic Cars, a California collector car dealership. This is a good, solid, running and driving car, with an added Roadster kit to make it a 2 seat roadster! Although it does need restoration, I think it would be a fairly easy project, and it would be spectacular when done! A friend of mine had this car sitting for a long, long time, and it was clear he wouldn’t get to it, so I bought it from him. We just had the brakes completely redone, gas tank cleaned, and carburetor rebuilt, so it’s a living, breathing car! I wouldn't take it on a long trip without some further re-commissioning, but it is live and operational now. It's OK for around the block, but don't expect to drive it on a long trip. It has blue California license plates, and it’s solid and rust free, with the only exceptions being the lip of the hood and a few bubbles on the lower edge of the driver’s door. It’s equipped with: · 390 V-8 · Automatic transmission · Swing-a-way steering wheel · AM factory radio · Power windows – all 4 work great! · Power top – not working now. · Factory A/C – complete and installed, but not working now. · Roadster style tonneau, fiberglass. Real factory roadsters didn't come out until '62. · The good: · Nice straight body · Complete · Runs and drives ok ( engine smokes a bit ) · Good glass · Power windows work! · Seat upholstery and dashboard are in good shape · Clean California title · Brakes were completely redone, with new cylinders, booster, hoses, and pads and master cylinder. The needing improvement: · Paint is old and faded · Carpeting must be completely replaced · Chrome should be redone throughout · Some minor rust spots, lip of hood, and lower driver door. · Interior anodized trim should be redone · Top isn’t working now – it’s complete, but not working. Top fabric requires replacement · The wire wheels are rusty and should be replaced. So – It’s clear that this car will require quite a bit of work, but I’ve priced it very, very reasonably to give you some room to do the work and still come out ahead. We are happy to take overseas bids , we’ve shipped many cars overseas. THERE IS NO COOLING OFF PERIOD UNLESS YOU OBTAIN A CONTRACT CANCELLATION OPTION. California law does not provide for a "cooling off" period for vehicle lease or purchase contracts. Therefore, you cannot later cancel such a contract simply because you change your mind, decide the vehicle costs too much, or wish you had acquired a different vehicle. After you sign a motor vehicle purchase or lease contract, it may only be cancelled with the agreement of the seller or lessor or for legal cause, such as fraud. However, California law does require the seller to offer a 2 day contract cancellation option on used vehicles with a purchase price of less than $40,000, subject to certain statutory conditions. The prospective purchaser of a vehicle may, at his or her own expense and with the approval of the dealer, have the vehicle inspected by an independent third party either on or off the dealership premises. All Prices shown DO NOT include California Sales Tax, DMV fees, smog certificate on post-1975 vehicles, Documentation fees, and any late registration fees owed to DMV. Out of state customers are responsible to pay sales tax and any other government fees in their own state. Out of state customers are not required to pay California Sales Tax and DMV fees IF the car is shipped by ICC licensed carrier, AND a notarized statement of delivery is signed upon delivery. If you fly in and drive it home, we are required to charge Tax and DMV for driving on California roads ! Car is sold mileage exempt due to age, meaning it’s not possible to know the exact mileage on a car of this age.
