Vehicle Detail
1970 Dodge Coronet R/T, B5 blue with blue interior, 1 of 2172 built, 440ci auto, 727, 8 ¾ rear end, 3.23 gear ratio open – not posi, all numbers match, short block of engine never been apart, original exhaust manifolds and original H pipe still on car, inside floors are original and excellent. All front suspension parts are original and good, I did not have to replace them, original headliner and dash, and original wheels. All body panels are original except bottom 2” of both rear quarters behind the wheels and some metal replaced in front of rear wheels. Under carriage is still factory undercoat and in good condition. There is no rust under this car. Restored car in 2006 and 2007. Invested $10,000 in new parts: new torque converter, new timing chain, new gaskets, all new brakes, hoses, belts, water pump, alternator…etc. New gas tank and sending unit, new radiator, new re-chromed bumpers for $1,500.00, new mufflers, tailpipes and tips. New carpet and seat covers, and new trim rings and tires. Wheel opening moldings are new, transmission rebuilt, doors and fenders are excellent, and center of trunk floor replaced. I have created a book documenting the restoration from start to finish. I have many pictures of the car before restoration. Car had original paint when I started. The best paint and materials were used. Car was stripped to bear metal and painted with DuPont Chroma Base. All door gaps are excellent and trim is excellent. Hand sanded and buffed. Over 750 hours of restoration time. We have over $30,000 in cash without labor. You can’t duplicate this car for what I am asking. Amp gauge in dash does not work, but all other gauges work. I have installed a trio gauge pack which includes amp gauge. Fuel gauge works, but does not go to full and has not been a problem. Carburetor was rebuilt, but mechanic said metering rod boers are pitted and car does have hesitation; however, runs very well so I never replaced the carburetor. If you want to improve on drivability, the carburetor should be replaced. This is the original and my intent on restoring was to try to keep it original as much as I could. This car sat in a garage in Antigo, WI for 28 years. Driven to mother’s house just 2 miles away. Cylinder heads were off and gone through in 2001. From 2001 to 2006 car was driven 40 miles. I know all except the first 2 owners. I am the 5th. When I finished the restoration the car was valued over $60,000 by NADA. Now we have driven the car, it is still in excellent condition, but not perfect. It is a driver. I am trying to get $30,000 and willing to loose my labor costs. Interested in trading for new Challenger RT or SRT trades with a stick. Other trades will be considered. Do not have window sticker, but I have 2 build sheets. This car has won 1st or 2nd place in every show entered, at least 3 to 4 a year since 2007. Come take a look, you won’t be disappointed. If you are the successful bidder, when you come to pick up the car and are not satisfied that I said it is what I said it was, I will refund your money. No questions asked. We don’t have to sell the car, but are interested in a change. Please don’t bid if you can’t afford to pay. This has happened to us before. Please call Randy at 608-630-3538 if you have any questions. I’d rather discuss by phone than by email. Thank you!! PS. Before restoration pictures are included at the end.
