OVER $105K INVESTED TO DATE BEAUTIFUL 1971 PORSCHE 911 RSR TRIBUTE LATE MODEL 3.2L POWERTRAIN - UPDATES THROUGHOUTTOLL FREE: 888.427.1965sales@vintagemotorsports.com Overview A very well thought out and executed tribute to the incredibly successful Porsche 911 RSRs of the 1970’s that cemented the company in racing. This vehicle has the classic lines and shape that hide a modern powertrain and competition tuned suspension perfect for weekend track days or aggressive street driving. A late model Porsche 3.2L powerplant with fuel injection and a 5 speed manual gearbox provide smooth and reliable performance. The interior is remarkable, combining several generations of Porsche design it is clean and comfortable with a modern slant. The restoration and conversion of this 911 was completed by VorteX Motorsports formerly Dave White Racing in Tampa, FL. Build and tuning receipts exceed $105,000 and all paperwork and records have been thoroughly maintained. Perhaps the best reason to own this, as a 1971 model year the owner can enjoy the benefits of classic car ownership including low insurance, low taxes, and no emissions requirements. A fun cruiser for the Porsche fanatic or neophyte with track day potential. Exterior Description The body is all metal on this RSR Tribute with the exception of the ducktail. The original restoration included a full strip of the body where all areas of rust or rot were properly replaced. The rear fender flares are steel and properly welded on to give the 930 curves. The exterior was treated to a professional PPG Speed Yellow basecoat / clearcoat paint job. The finish remains very glossy and body lines are straight. The underside of the entire vehicle was treated to a full coating of Wurth SKS undercoat. Features a full RSR body package including the fender flares, ducktail, and front bumper. Headlights were upgraded to H4. All lenses and seals were recently replaced to Euro spec. as well as the RSR vinyl racing graphics. During restoration a new windshield was fitted. Side mirrors are original Talbots. Interior Description Another stunning feature of this 911 is the execution on the interior. The interior combines the simplicity and weight reduction of a lightweight RSR with modern seats from a 996 GT3 and Schroth Profi 6-Point safety harnesses. A professionally installed roll bar does not intrude on the passengers and adds another element of safety. The cabin is fully carpeted in Perlon RS carpet. A later model dash was dyed to match the red seats as well as the tops of the RSR door panels. Power windows were installed for convenience. Rounding out the interior are new track mats, billet pedals, fire extinguisher, and a Sparco suede steering wheel. Powertrain Description The engine for this 911 was sourced from a 1989 Carrera. CARFAX and paperwork for the donor vehicle is included. The 43,000 mile engine was treated to a full service and replacement of seals. Recent leak down test shows all cylinders at 96 to 98%. The 915 5 speed transaxle was treated to a full rebuild including all new clutch, pressure plate, and release bearing from Sachs. Also installed was a brand new Quaife differential. A Wevo shifter with the coupling option ensures tight and firm shifts. The headers were treated to ceramic coating and the heater boxes were deleted. The exhaust is tunable and features Supertrapp mufflers or an optional set of megaphones if you want to shake the windows. Suspension Description There’s a lot more to this RSR Tribute behind the wheels. A great deal of time and money was focused on making this 911 handle on rails. The wheels are custom built 3 piece units that employ an orginal Fuchs center mated to a BBS hoops. The front wheels are 17x9 and the rears or 17x11 with 245-45R17 and 275-40R17s respectively. A great deal of the suspension, brakes, and steering were sourced from a 930 and then improved and upgraded from there. A TRG front adjustable sway kit was installed for increased adjustability. Rear monoballs were installed along with a laundry list of Elephant Racing components including ASP adjustable spring plates, quick-change spring plate splined hubs, polybronze sping plate bearings, polybronze control arm bearings in the rear as well as a new ARB adjustable sway bar. The front suspension was treated to polybronze bushings as well. The vehicle was treated to a recent alignment and full corner balance. Later model brakes offer enhanced stopping and a brake bias adjuster has been installed on the interior for on-the-fly adjustments.
