Vehicle Detail

Up for grabs is a very rare factory diesel Ford Ranger 2wd truck. For some reason, after I put in the VIN (which you can't list w/o apparently), ebay has decided it is a 6 cylinder, 2.8L. IT IS NOT. It is a factory equipped 2.2L non-turbo diesel. Very simple to convert to WVO. In fact I've been running this truck on WVO for 2 years. I'm only selling it to move up to a full size diesel truck. The WVO conversion is no longer on this truck, but I will show you how to convert it. The engine is a Mazda/ Perkins 2.2L non-turbo diesel. I've had the truck for 3 years and have logged about 15,000 miles on WVO with no issues. Since I've had the truck, I have installed the following new parts: front coil springs, rear leaf springs, rotors and wheel bearings, drums, calipers, rear wheel cylinders, brakes, brake lines, brake pwr booster, vacuum pump, vacuum sensor, battery, fuel filter, FM/CD player, front windshield, welded in new floor boards, new dash cover, spray in sound barrier on floors, new floor padding, new rubber floor mat, used bucket seats, welded in new radiator support, new radiator, hoses, belts, tires and wheels, master and slave clutch cylinders, replaced the doors with ones from a 1985, added front and rear roll bars from a 1985 4x4, glow plugs, and probably some other stuff I can't remember right now. This was my WVO experiment vehicle. All went very well. Time to move up to a full size truck. Buyer must retrieve. $250 deposit within 24 hours of winning auction. On Nov-25-10 at 04:57:14 PST, seller added the following information:This truck has a FOUR cylinder diesel. Also, bear in mind this truck is 27 years old and does have rust and bondo. The box has the most rust. We cut out the cab floors and welded in metal when we replaced the radiator support. I forgot to mention though that I have 2 brand new replacement rockers, already primered. I also have a new heater core and "cold start cable" in a box. The existing heater core does not leak, and works fine, I just came across a good deal on a new one, and knew eventually the truck would need one. The "cold start" cable is similar to a choke, except on this diesel it advances the timing and increases the throttle. Oh yeah, I also have the Ford factory mechanics repair manual, which was very helpful early on. Thanks for bidding! (BTW - it gets a little over 30mpg.)On Nov-25-10 at 12:07:46 PST, seller added the following information: Also forgot to mention that I replaced the glow plug relay, had the starter rebuilt (the summer before last), installed new battery and cables last year, and replaced old rusted out metal air filter canister with new silicone hose and larger air filter.
