Vehicle Detail
1975 BMW 2002 Vintage Spec/Cup Car Full Blistien Suspension with new aluminum strut retainers. Getrag Transmission w/ Brand new clutch. Brembo Tii Brake upgrade kit included including thicker hubs and bearings. Been converted to a Weber DG/VC carb w/ wide jets. MSD conversion which was done to give reliable power up to 8,500 RPM. The stock header was replaced for a shorter ram design. All original seats included, Drivers is currently a perfect example of an early 80's Recaro racing seat. The steering wheel has been replaced with a factory performance Rosewood BMW Wheel. The exhaust is a Stainless steel Stebro exhaust from CAADA and comes with a lifetime warranty. Also added is a set of Halogen Hellas for those foggy days. I'm also included the original Haynes repair manual, and a racing guide, and a hi-perf racing guide. The passenger side door trim and fasteners, and the drivers side chrome side skirt in matching condition to the car. I also have all the part numbers for almost every part on the car thats covered in regular maitenence. (Therm, gaskets, fuel hoses, sending unit). So what makes this car special? Well, in 1978 BMW offered a BRAND NEW (not rebuilt) Shortblock as a factory installed option, which this car recieved This increased the HP, and rev capacity due to a sturdier crank bearing design and wider coolant and oil galleys. Subsequently the engine has a rev capacity far higher than its counterpart. The engine has 7,500 Miles on it and turns over instantly. From the tranny back the car has 12,739 miles. The car is completely rust free and was maintained relentlessly. If you put this car on a rotissery the frame would be black and the floors would be the original lacquer baby blue. It really is a time machine. Car is show in original paint - the hood has a surface rust spot. We have left it exactly as it is but would be willing to paint it complete (trim off, etc) at the buy it now price for an additional $1500 or for $2500 at any purchase price. This car with all the extra goodies and parts we have is well worth much more than the reserve price will be..... Happy Bidding! Please note: The original molding on the pass side shows bent in the photos. A new exact oem molding is included with the car. Battery is also new. Drivers Recaro seat is installed but the original seat is also included along with numerous parts. The Brembo Tii Brake upgrade kit included including thicker hubs and bearings alone are worth over $1,000. Vehicle can be inspected at YD Auto - 1176 Hooksett Road, Hooksett, NH 03106. Check out my feedback rating is which in over 12 years of being on Ebay has NO negatives - never had even one and this is including many car sales. Check out what buyers wrote in the comments section.....or come see us! On Nov-20-10 at 07:37:00 PST, seller added the following information: Hi - have had a variety of questions on painting. If the car sells for the buy it now price - We will disassemble it leaving just the windshield and back glass in place (removing the trim, etc) and paint the car with a high quality single stage to camera match the original paint. We will also use a very high quality clear to clear it and then reassemble. It will be a decent paint job for only $1500 (our cost). If the car sells below buy it now - we will do the same job for $2500 to make the normal profit but can get it doen immediatelyso the car is delivered with fresh paint for those that prefer it this way. In addition, with the paint job the new chrome moulding (pass side) and the original chrome side skirt will be put back on the car (otherwise it will be included for you to attach). Also - the description above was printed in whole except for the last two paragraphs from notes taken from the original owner at auction. One line says completely rust free - but it should really say "nearly" rust free as the hood has rust spots as shown and there is a small amount of surface only rust in truck well as shown in pictures and a ver small rust spot corner front of pass door. I wish to be as honest as possible in presenting this vehicle. I am not a BMW collector or enthusiast and am getting a ton of questions. I will answer each of them as best I can and will be more than happy to send any specific photo requested about any specific part of the car. Just email me...thanks so much for the amazing amount of interest and questions....
