Vehicle Detail

Update 11/19: I added 13 new pictures showing more engine and close up details as requested by some watchers (now over 125!) If you have any other picts request....just ask. Mileage correction: odometer shows 794, not 793 - sorry. I don't have all the receipts, but I was told this bike was over $10K to restore.....This is a NO RESERVE auction; high bid buys the bike. Good Luck! A popular late 1960's west coast modification for desert racing was to install a Triumph engine into a Benelli Mojave frame. The Mojave frames are MUCH better designed and robust for racing, than the stock single down tube Triumph frame. This bike is a professionlly built "Special" using Triumph, Benelli and custom parts. The result is Triumph power and a rock solid chassis. The body work is Benelli too. If you notice, the bodywork and frame is very similar to the Rickman / Metisse style and Tracey bodywork. Engine: Fully rebuilt Triumph 750 Engine with a 4 spd. transmission (yes, I know 750s typically have 5 spds!). Eng: TR7V GHxxxxx Chassis: 1967 Benelli "Mojave" with modifications to adapt the Triumph engine. Front hub is Benelli, Rear hub is Triumph, swing-arm is custom. Body work is OEM Benelli steel parts, repainted by the restoration shop. The motorcycle has a clear NJ title in my name, and is titled as a 1967 Benelli. All running gear is new or rebuilt. Its got new tires, carb, exhaust, wiring harness, seat covering, and excellent "off white" paint. I have matching bodywork side panels for this bike, that I leave off. I think it looks better without them. Plus, its easier to access the oil tank with them removed. Plus, The sidecover will go with the bike of course. The bike was professionally built by a restoration shop in Pennsylvania. The bike had 791 miles when completed by the shop. It currently has 793 miles. The bike has been driven 2 miles since the restoration was complete. This bike cost thousands more to build than the buy it now price. The bike is super clean and ready to ride. The battery has been removed and run a capacitor. The bike runs and sounds great. Its a very easy starter with the battery. With the capacitor only, its takes a couple of more kicks to fire up. My friends tell me its just me....not the bike. oh well.... Currently, the only negatives are: 1) slight engine oil leak (hey, its British) 2) on fully compressing the rear suspension, the rear tire contacts the rear "inner" fender (not the outside white fender). A smaller rear tire, more shock preload or removing the inner fender should resolve the problem. 3) the rear brake light switch spring (between switch and lever) is kinked. it works fine though..... The bike is listed locally for sale, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. If sold on this auction; a $500 paypal DEPOSIT is due within 3 days of the close of auction. Full payment is required before shipping or pick up of the bike. Do not send cash! I will assist with shipping, but all arrangements and fees are the responsibility of the buyer! Bike sold AS-IS, no warranty. Any questions; just ask. Inspections are welcome. Owner history: I bought the bike earlier in the summer from the estate of the person who commisioned the restored. I bought the bike with 791 miles on the odometer. Due to health issues, have only ridden it 2 miles (793 now on the clock) I have some documentation that was provided to me by the estate, but it is not complete. The initial restoration was completed by Locust Grove Restoration, in Bainbridge PA. ALOT more was spent on this bike than the buy it now..... its a beautiful machine. I was informed that the exhaust pipes and mufflers are from Armours in the UK. No part number is given.
