Vehicle Detail
Great looking Isuzu with the exception that it NEEDS THE ENGINE REPLACED and the two catalytic converters and the muffler needs replaced. If your a mechanic with the a lot of engine repair experience this would be a very good deal. I believe the problem is with the piston and connecting rod or it could be the so called skirt in the piston area. The noise that I'm getting is a loud knocking noise on the right side of the engine. The car runs but I suggest not to do this or you will cause further damage. As you can see be the pictures, the car is nice looking and also it now has brand new tires on it made by a Japan manufacturer called Sumitomo and the type is the All-Terrain (Tire size is 245/70R16). Also a new Interstate Battery has been installed. The SUV was in the Auto repair shop for close to two months and between two different shops. I had no problems with the exhaust system until I got it back. The reason for taking it in for repair was the awful chattering noise and they diagnosed it to be the bearings on the Crankshaft. I made a mistake by picking the wrong shop. They dropped the Crankshaft for they thought it needed new bearings. Well it happens that the first Journal was defective needed polished so instead of doing that they built up the Connecting Rod so it would fit the Crankshaft and did replace all 6 of the Bearings. This did not work for the engine continued with the noise. I choose to ship the Crankshaft to a company in North Carolina, the name of the company being Standard Crankshaft Inc. The company took care of the Journal with a process of polishing it after building it up. I'm sure their work was done very satisfactorily and they shipped it back to me along with new bearings and a new Connecting Rod for the #1 Journal. I brought it back to the Repair Shop for installation and this is when the problems really began. Well to go no further, they obviously were rather incompetent because one problem led to another including the Exhaust system. I negotiated what I felt was the most that I would pay them then took the car into a reputable Repair shop. They did what I needed in order to get it back on the road. The repair order indicated the many things that still would be needed to be road worthy including a wrap up notation stating that I put another engine in the car. I guess that said it all, and I decided to drop further work just the other day when the chattering noise got louder. I feel it is due to defective Pistons or Rods. I took it home and decided not to put any more money into the car and decided to sell it AS IS!
