Vehicle Detail
1989 Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible 5 speed - 5.0L EFI V-8 225hp (HO) Deep Shadow Blue with White/Blue interior and Blue Top. 1989 was the 25th Anniversary of the Mustang and this particular color/engine/ trans combination is among the rarest Ford made. To my knowledge, only 86 of these were made. I’m the third owner, and the car spent all of its life in the Chicago area, therefore it has all of the usual “rust problem” areas that Mustangs around this area have. The included pictures show the areas needing attention. The car is fantastic. Runs like a top – even better with 101 octane fuel. The body and top need some work (see pix) The rear window needs fixing, but the top mechanism works just fine. (Personally, I would replace the whole top within a year or two) The quarter windows need adjusting as they work intermittently. (New motors) Mechanically sound engine. Trans works great (PRO 50 Shifter) New clutch about 6Kmiles on it Brakes have about 6K miles on them Tires are in great shape (front tires have less than 500 miles on them) I’ve made the following mods: Added Strut Tower Brace Added Lower Chassis Brace Added Full Welded-in Sub-frames Added K&N Cold Intake Added Crane “Fire Ball” High Performance Coil and 8mm Ford Racing Plug wires Added Sport Steering Wheel Added Nakamici Receiver w/ 6 CD changer. Upgraded all six Speakers Added “euro-look” headlightsI'm throwing in a box of extra parts and a set of after-market 5-spoke wheels and tiresWith a little effort this can become an outstanding car! I'm selling because I have no time or energy (5 year-old daughter) to properly restore this car. I hope it goes to a Mustang lover that does it justice. Please contact me with any questions. Good Luck & HAPPY BIDDING!
