Vehicle Detail

Not exactly a “barn find”… more like a “shed find.” I found this Triumph in Minnesota in 1994 through a friend that helps feed my bad habits. I dragged it back to Seattle in July of that year with the intentions of treating it to a full restoration. Unfortunately, many other projects have gotten in the way over the years and the bike was never gotten the attention it deserves. Recently I’ve decided that it would be fairer to the machine for me to pass it along to someone else who will restore it. Sadly, the original owner of the Triumph had died years prior to my purchasing it and I bought it from his widow. It had been stored inside a shed but unfortunately the shed wasn’t enough to stave off the ravages of Minnesota winters. The good news is that the engine is free and when I got the bike back to Seattle I coated the cylinders with oil and have stored it in my dry (dehumidified) basement ever since. The bike is very complete and the only thing I believe is missing is the left side body side cover . The tank has a small dent as can be seen in the photos, the rims are rusty as is most of the exhaust system. The fenders are stainless steel, un-dented and should clean up very nicely. The engine and transmission appear fine but I had always planned on dissembling them to make sure all is well inside. The engine and frame numbers match - DD 46752 TR6C. This should prove to be a pretty straight forward restoration and the value of these machines, when restored, certainly warrants the expenditure. The previous owner’s widow was not able to find the Minnesota title for the bike and I have never gone through the process of getting the paperwork in my name. I have a bill of sale from the widow that will be provided and I will provide a bill of sale from me to the next owner If you would to inspect this bike in person I will be very happy to help arrange a visit. The bike resides in Normandy Park, WA, a ten minute drive from the Seattle/Tacoma airport. Also, I am very happy to do all that I can on this end to help in stateside or overseas shipment. I can deliver the bike to a local shipping company to save you the cost of having it picked up at my residence. If you have any questions at all please feel free to call or e-mail. My cell number is (206)276-9791 and I can be reached up until about 10:00PM (Pacific time zone.). Attached are all of the photos I have of the bike but I will be happy to photograph any details that you would like to see. Please be prepared to make a $500 deposit via Pay-Pal, cashier's check or money order with-in 4 days of the end of the auction and pay the balance within 10 days. I would like to see the bike picked up soon after the auction ends but might be able to arrange for storage for a while.
