1971 MGB GT, 4-speed. I am the third owner and have had her for almost 2 years. I live in Georgia and bought her from the second owner who also lives in Georgia. The second owners had her for over 15 years and they purchased her from the original owner, a military person stationed in Warner Robbins, Georgia. I bought this car to restore for my wife and myself to take on outings and participate in MG club events. I have taken care of all the mechanical issues the car had and she is now ready for the easy stuff, paint and slight interior work. I reluctantly offer her for sale now due to a change in my personal situation. Interior: It has a great headliner and a very nice looking original dash, including beautiful gauges. While the rest of the interior is certainly presentable, especially for a driver, it would benefit from the installation of new carpet and interior door panels. The seats could also stand to be re-covered. Exterior: The color is the original and it is called Bedouine, cream beige, factory code BLVC 4, (RM BM163). It is rare 1971 only color. She is ready for a respray. While there is a little exterior surface rust (see pictures), there is no rust through and it can be easily addressed by a competent body shop. All exterior trim is original and looks nice. The underside is very solid and this body is very sound. Engine: The 1.8L engine was rebuilt by the previous owner using .040 pistons. It runs extremely well, has excellent oil pressure (60lbs warm at idle) and does not smoke or make any strange noises. The engine starts very easily in any weather. The exhaust note is very nice and she runs smoothly. Gearbox and differential: It has the original durable 4-speed manual gearbox. Again, no unusual noises, shifts smoothly into all gears and no unusual leaks. The clutch pedal engages exactly as you would expect a healthy MGB clutch to engage. Brakes: The brakes work VERY nicely and stop straight and sure. Suspension: Both front and rear suspension and steering are excellent. She drives very tightly and corners like she is on rails. Recent work performed on the car and new parts installed are as follows: Tires, valve stems,balance and alignment less than 50 miles. Fuel tank Tie rod ends Sway bar bushings, (4) V8 A-Frame bushings Trunion bushings King pins cleaned, checked, greased with new seals Front brake calipers rebuilt, new pads and flex line E-Brake cable Brake master cyclinder Rear brake wheel cyclinders, shoes and flex line Rebuilt clutch master cyclinder and slave cyclinder Water pump and fan belt Hoses replaced (4) Wires, cap rotor, points,plugs Hood insulation kit Carbs serviced, new floats needle and seats with gaskets Fuel filter Steering rack oil changed, new boots and clamps Wiper blades Air filters (2) Interior door seals Rear leaf springs (by previous owner) Door latches removed, cleaned and locks work Battery replaced Has Moto Lita Wheel The lucky bidder will be able to easily drive this car anywhere to get home, she is reliable and a pleasure to drive. No trailer needed. I have given this car a lot of love over the past couple of years and I really wish I could keep her but external issues make it not possible.
