1971 GMC pickup - long wide box Needs restoration & work 396 Engine / 400 Turbo trans In family since new - grandfather bought in 1971. Original 350 engine & trans removed in 72 - 396/400 automatic installed for towing travel trailer. Needs work, but has no major damage. Left rear quarter dimpled from backing into a stump. Some rust in lower part of wheel wells below trim line. Tailgate bent and dinged. Grill & front chrome bumper good. Most trim needs replacing - some is salvagable. Wood bed is shot and needs replacing. Not driveable - sold as is. needs tires, brakes, exhaust. It ran 2 years ago when parked in driveway but has not run since. It will probably start with a little work and a battery re-charge. Battery was new 2 yrs ago. Leaks oil and tranny fluid. Interior OK - seat needs recover - door panels are OK and dash pad / instrument panel is good - no cracks in dash pad. 3 fuel tanks - 2 saddle/1 behind seat. Power disc brakes & power steering - no other options - Custom model. Original AM radio. 180,000 miles THIS IS A PROJECT TRUCK - SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS. It cannot be driven safely - needs brakes & tires. It will have to be cabled onto a truck or trailer - it cannot load under it's own power - please keep this in mind when bidding and arranging for transport.
