1959 AMC Rambler 6cyl, push button automatic. I think it's mostly all orignal, and in great shape, runs and drives. It still has a good set of bias ply tires, the odometer shows 92,200 maybe it's 192000 but the person I bought it from said the odometer is right, and I think I agree. All the doors and windows work great, the door handles work so nicely and the doors open and close so smoothly, with no rust, looking good on the inside of the door jams. The car has almost no rust at all and looks real good on the underside. The body has some dents mostly small but on the passenger side there is a larger dent on the rear fender and on the rear of the front fender see pic's. The grill is also damaged cracked in spots and there are some missing pieces, like it only has one front blinker lens. And the only letters it has on grill are A L E, where it normally says RAMBLER. It only has one back up lens, it has two new tail lights. And all lights work other then the front one thats missing. On the inside the front and rear seats look a little faded, but no rips, there is one button missing on the front drivers side back. I think it was all redone on the inside but they didn't replace the window seals, then parking it outside in OR (rain), the door skins and carpet got wet and need replaced, the old door skins will make it an easy job to do at home over the winter. All the glass is Beautifull no chips cracks or scratches. There is a long number etched into the drivers door window. All four wing windows work. The Push button shift works beautifully other then it is missing one button OD ? maybe. It has LOW, Drive 2, Reverse, and neutral / start. When driven in D2 it shifts into 3rd just fine and cruises at 50 Mph. Park also works. IT still has a good enclosed driveshaft all working just fine had it at 50mph twice for a short while. Brakes work too, front are a little touchy, rears may need tightened. The 6cyl eng. I don't know the size but I think it is Orignal. Runs, it takes a long time to warm up then runs. BUT idle is up and down and has a very light low end knock, almost can't hear it/only at low warm idle. The previous owner put new tune up parts in, and an ignition switch. After this they found there bootleg gas filler didn't work so, it sat. I bought it to keep it from being parted out. I put a new steel gas filler on it, and cleaned all the gas lines and gas tank. I also rebuilt the carb (Glass fuel bowl holley with the glass) to get her running. ( the tank is vented to the top of the gas filler, tank looks good inside). I put an ELC fuel pump on it and left the old glass Fuel bowl pump on, so you can have it rebuilt and go orignal or just leave the other one on. I do think the engine needs work to be a daily driver, maybe not. The compression was good, but I think the timing is worn. The quiet knock may go away or stay for years, maybe new bearings is all she needs.
