Plum crazy purple paint in decent shape, theres a few chips. The rear fenders are from a 72 and are a different purple. My sister backed into it and dented in the hood. The rest of the body is very straight and has a few little bits of rust here and there but nothing major. overall id call it a 7/10 considering the age. The pan is clean and rust free except where the battery is. The interior is all black and in excellent condition, i consider it 9/10 once again, considering the age of the car. It has a porsche speedo and afermarket oil temp, oil psi, volts and fuel level gauge. the aftermarket tach in the dash didnt work correctly so i unplugged it and zip tied a cheapie tach i had around onto the hood. it works fine but doesnt look too spiffy. It has lowering spindles in front and the rest of the brakes/suspension is stock but in very good condition. The transmission is stock and leaks a little, and comes with new poly shift bushings to be installed The rear apron is removable to make engine swaps easier Engine has about 50 miles on it since being built. Dual relief case, full flowed, oil passages modified to use 30mm pump, crankcase well vented to reduce windage, most of the plugs were removed and tapped for pipe plugs in order to fully clean out all oil passages. 30mm schadek pump, blueprinted and outlet plugged. the case is also plugged where the pump feeds into it to eliminate any kind of pressure bleed-off. pump cover with outlet sanded flat -10an aeroquip oil lines with chevy remote filter(use WIX 51060 filter) 1.5qt deep sump scat 78mm crank, i beam rods, mahle 90.5 pistons new web 86b camshaft chromoly pushrods 1.4 rockers spring loaded pushrod tubes ACN lifters CB straight cut cam gears(cam is degreed in to web specs). these gears arent too loud but you can hear them. CB 044 heads with 42/37 stainless valves, fully ported and fresh 3 angle valve job all new dual springs, titanium retainers, hardened locks weber dual 40 idfs with fully ported (not just gasket matched) intakes Kennedy stage two pressure plate all the tinwork is fitted and sealed, the motor doesnt get hot. A1 sidewinder ceramic coated header The motor is fully broken in and runs ok but the tune is way off. the timing and carbs both need to be tuned in, once that happens the motor should really make some power. The car has a lot of good parts but its not something i would expect to be able to drive to california without a little bit of work first. On Oct-11-10 at 17:12:42 PDT, seller added the following information:The bug has been sitting longer than I realized, and after going over it, it turns out there are a few issues that i was not previously aware of. the brake master cylinder has gone bad and so the brakes do not currently work. one of the Weber carburetors got some water in it from a recent rain storm and now needs to be rebuilt. as a result of these two problems, the bug will need to be towed away. Before the bug went into storage earlier this year, it ran and drove just fine, so everything else should be fine with the car. if any of the current bidders are no longer interested, i will remove their bids upon request. like any car of this vintage, it is being sold as-is, where-is.
