Vehicle Detail

1963 Cadillac 6 window Sedan. I thought it was a fleetwood, but I was corrected. 390 V8. 44K original miles. Been in storage for 20 years, driven occasionally the first 10 years, and sat the last 10. Selling for my friend. Started up and ran good in May I drove it 75 miles on and it was running smoothly. Started missing, so I put fuel filter, pump, wires, plugs, distributor cap, rotor. No help. taps, and backfires through the exhaust consistently. Had a couple mechanics listen to it, and they both thought probably a minor top end issue (lifter or bent push arm to valve) Since that time the car has began to smoke blue heavily and fouled the plugs out. I think the valve seats have detriorated and oil is getting in the cylinders and fouling the plugs. Probably caused the missing too if guide was limiting valve from closing. Car is original, but I believe has been repainted at some point. A few spots of light surface rust on the body, and a little bubbling in paint a couple places. The paint I believe is lacquer, so it has cracking and some fading, but overall could be shined up pretty easily and made to look pretty good. One spot looks like it may have been fixed on the back next to the rear window by the fin. Underside of car has typical surface rust, but is solid. Chrome straight and good shape. Tires are 10 years old and have about 100 miles on them. Could use new bushings on front A arm, but drives straight and stops good. Water pump is weeping so probably needs replaced. A/C not charged, but was functional 10 years ago when last driven. Has a new battery. Interior complete. Seats fabric torn/worn out. Crack in dash cover on top. 2 tennis ball size holes in headliner from mice. I found a few mice nests in car (trunk, back seat, headliner) so it stinks. Some of the interior chrome has light surface rust from mouse urine I think. Most of it could be cleaned up I think. We had planned to have it detailed, but figured a person would probably want to restore the car and redo the interior so we didn't have it done. Electric seats functional, electric windows work, but sometimes a little inconsistently. This car is in pretty good shape for being 47 years old, and is an excellent restoration candidate. Let me know what questions you have. Car no longer start so plan on taking it home on a trailer. . 402-669-5660 with questions. NO RESERVE
