Here is a great 1997 Mercedes S320 offered for sale/auction. About two years ago my husband with a help of a local body shop started a complete renovation of our beloved blue beauty (it is very dark blue in color although looking more bluish black). Our plan was to bring it back to its brand new shawroom condition - fixing and repairing all accumulated in ten years dings, dents,scratches, signs of unavoidable fender benders (all of them cosmetic by nature - one episode right quarter and another episode right fender). But he was not able to complete the effort although most of the preparation work was done and what is needed now is a complete paint job. All the moldings, panels and emblems were removed in pre-paint preparation , all imperefections were corrected, primed and sanded. What is needed now - a refreshing light sanding to remove oxidation, paint job and to put all moldings,parts and panels back in their places. Some natural after two years idling mechanical tune-up and adjustment - and hit the highway full speed. Two-three days work. ' A local body/paint shop in Queens job estimated the job as $1500. But said that a person who has a compressor can do it himself with only $250 in materials as 90% of all preparation work is done (that is the most difficult and time consuming). This S320 has exactly the same body as top of the line S500 , but consumes only half of S500`gas. This is a one-family car. From the date of purchase was cherished, cared for and pumped. As expensive upgrades it has a sophisticated alarm/antitheft system, in-dash Navigation and DVD player, a special force siren. After two years sitting it runs and drives perfect. As the whole body is prepared for painting, it can be painted any color desired - black, silver, red, white, yellow... Just to inform DMV of the color change. Gray leather is in perfect condition. Loaded with options. Never was salvaged, never had air bags deployed, never had any problems with engine or tranny or suspension or steering. The car is offered for sale locally as well.
