Vehicle Detail
The serial number stamped on the firewall is 1495 06263. I have been advised by some alfa people that this is a VELOCE. Please do your own checking to see if it is so. This car is not being listed as a Veloce, but, it very well may be one. It is your responsibility to verify it. The one thing I have verified is that it ID number is in the rage of 1959 Gulietta Veloce published in "The Guide to the Identification of Alfa Romeo Cars", Page 69. ISBN: 88-7911-233-3. Aothor Maurizio Tabucchi This Alfa was raced in SCCA events by the North American service manager for Alfa Romeo who was a good friend. Unfortunatly he lost a valiant battle against Cancer. My intention were to bring this car back to vintage specs and race it in Vintage events. Approaching 70 and with health problems is going to keep me from this goal. We have stripped the flares and started to prpare the body for paint, rebuilt the engine which is a 1600 cc and removed the trasmission which is a 5 speed. The car has an impessive roll bar system and an ATL fuel tank rated at 12 gallons. The only thing missing is the twin DCOE Webers and intake manifold. This car was raced in E class or somtimes in D class depending on the engine installed. It is a Race car and has very little rust but the patina of close racing. The car will need a total restoration. This is not at present a street car, but, could be converted back. It is missing a grill and eyebrows. Included along with the rebuilt engine are two more Alfa engines. These are un-numbered and I was told were from the factory. Also is a parts engine and a spare block. So you have a total of 5 alfa engines or blocks. The 1600cc engine that was rebuilt was set up as a reliabe, long lasting , not a grenade engine. Its serial number is AR00536 15197. It come with its own engine stand. There are boxes of new, refurbished parts, and used parts. They inclide fly wheels, oil pumps ,dizzys, belts, valves, bearing sets, brake drums front and rear, 11 wheels most with tires, primative plexiglass windshield etc, etc. You could start a nice parts business with these items. My interest is in BMW and Corvette, please excuse my unfamiliarty with Alfas. One thing for sure is that these parts are each a work of art. There are also unrelated Alfa parts that were aquired by my friend over time, eg a SPICA fuil injection pump, balancers etc. Wish I could be more specific , but, am not that familier with this Mark. Buyer is responsible for pick up of the Guilietta Spider 750F and all parts. You will need a trailer or hauler for the car and a pick up truck for the parts. We are located in Hamburg, New York, 14075, just south of Buffalo, N.Y. The PO aldo raced and drove other Alfa.s and I am sure there are parts for these cars scattered in this stash. Due to its age, NY State did not issue title and only requires a Bill of Sale, which will be provided. Good luck in biding. I can be reacked at 716-627-4411.On Oct-06-10 at 17:40:14 PDT, seller added the following information: I was advised by an Alfa person to send an e-mail to Marco Fazio at Alfa Romeo Automobilismo Storico, Centro Direzionale, Viale Alfa Romeo, 20020 Arese [Milan[ Italy. His e-mail is marco.fazio@alfaromeo.com. His reply to my e-mail stated the following: " According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1496.06263 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, manufacted on the 10th of March 1959 and sold on the 16th March 1959 to NSU Werk, Germany. The body colour is white, with red or black interiors ". This therefore is not a Veloce and is not being sold as one. I was also advised by another Alfa Expert that this car is a 750 not a 750F which the F indicates the Veloce designation.
