WOW is that a 81 VW Rabbit Diesel with a SUNROOF AND AC!!! PLEASE READ ENTIRE AUCTION AD I have a very nice beige 2 door Rabbit hatchback with only 114,000 original actual mileage. Its runs and drives very nice around town and on long trips. In town it gets 40mpg and freeway speeds near 60-65mph it gets 55mpg. Alot of parts have been replaced and installed on the car for up-keep and maintenance. Car is completely stock and nothing is modified except for one thing, and you would agree these need a CD player so the dash panel was modified to install the stereo. About the car: 1st year for the 1.6L diesel, improved version of the 1.5L diesel issues 45/57mpg city/highway mileage 5speed shifts good, no grinds, good clutch Original manuals and documents from cars original owner Clear title and current registration Sunroof works and cranks open and closed with ease, no leaks AC works and is very cold, this is rare and has a MAX COLD setting too Rally rear view Peek-A-Boo mirror JVC Stereo Head Unit, MP3 player and REMOTE Rear Defroster factory option Rear Window Wiper option Beige Paint is excellent, few touch up spots and dings Interior is great and has some wear but looks great All glass is like new but all original All lighting works Seals are good and pliable still Starts up on cold days (good glow plugs/controller) Tires are good with over 70% tread Car Items upgraded or changed recently (all VW): New motor mounts New timing belt New struts/shocks all around New wheel bearings all around New CV Half Shafts New radiator New Alternator New water pump New JVC head unit Veggie Oil conversion or Bio-Diesel in the near Future??? These make great candidates and its all mechanical injection so it can stand up to the heat for keeping the veggie oil thin enough to flow properly. You can jump into car and drive away anywhere you need to go, no hesitation for longs trips. It starts up with no smoke at all and idles great, uses pull knob on dash to advance injector timing for fast starting in temps below 40deg. These use the "slow-glow" plugs, which are better and last longer. When cold, turn key to ON and GLOW PLUG LIGHT shows for 15secs and then goes off to tell you its ok to start. All else is good, does have the saggy headliner I must add Bid early and often and dont let this go. This was well maintained by a strict diesel owner for 22 years after it was bought new. How else could you have the original manuals with VIN's and Rabbit floor mats. Its amazing and you will be hard to find the rear wiper, 5spd, dash clock, sunroof, and A/C all in one car from factory with this little mileage.
