Vehicle Detail

1998 M3 Convertible Please read the entire description of this car. While I sell multiple vehicles for myself, this is owned by a friend of mine who asked for some help listing his car on EBAY. For shipping or pickup details please contact me or plan on picking the car up in Los Angeles where Paul (and the car) live. I realize that these are not the greatest pics, but is what we had on hand, I'll be adding a few more tonight/tomorrow. This car is not perfect, but is in very good working order. While it won’t show on an Autocheck It has been in a couple of fender benders in its life, mostly parking lot bumps and bruises and one accident requiring BMW to fix it (hood, fender, bumper) There we no airbags deployed or frame damage, just minor fender damage requiring fender, bumper, and paint. These minor incidents were several years ago and the car has performed flawlessly since BMW serviced it. The car is in very good condition, but I listed everything that’s not perfect below: 1. The driver’s door window switch works, but occasionally has a short and doesn’t move the window. I could probably replace this as I have in the past but again, don’t have the time. Again, it works 90% of the time. 2. The top works fine, but occasionally makes a noise while going down. BMW says nothing to worry about. 3. The passenger ABS light is on. For those of you who have owned a BMW this happens on all of them. I have had 5 318 TI’s, 2 528’s and 2 740’s. All of them have had the same problem with the exception of the 740’s. The airbags work, but the switch that they put under the seat to detect if you are over 80LBS or not doesn’t work. I don’t ever fix them as they last for about 12 months then go out again and it’s not worth it. I simply put the kids in the back (as they should be anyway) 4. Appearance wise the car looks very good for its age. There is one minor blemish (pictured) on the drivers seat and the rest of the interior is in good shape. All other seats look great. Small scratch on rear bumper (pictured) Otherwise paint, interior, and top look good. 5. The driver’s sun visor needs a screw, we just don’t have the time to go get it for $1.50 from BMW. 6. One of the speakers has a short or doesn’t work, I simply turned it off, you can replace it or fix it if you know how. If I had the time I would collect this car myself as everything mentioned can be fixed inexpensively and I would have a low mileage M3 Automatic for a fair price. This is a 1998 M3 with automatic transmission. Good luck finding one in good condition and with low mileage. Additionally it is owned by adults and has never been on a track or driven hard. Again, good luck finding this as well. I have played with BMW’s for years and one constant holds true: M3’s get abused. This one has been babied. Any service and repairs have been done by BMW. It is also a Cali car and has no rust or corrosion from salt or snow. The top and rear window are in good condition as is the interior and paint. There are a few minor abrasions on the bumper, but they are very minor and pictured to the best of our ability. The original sticker exceeded $52,000 and the car is loaded. It has Harmon Kardon sound system, cruise control, heated seats, and yes….it’s an Automatic. Please see my feedback, most of it is from similar collectible cars that I have had. I try to point out all of the negatives and under-state the positives. This car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any-time. Please don’t ask me to hold the car for you. I will only hold the car for a deposit-making purchaser. This is a no reserve auction and will go to the highest bidder. Again, please don’t ask me to hold the car for you without a deposit. On shipping, I will work with you on shipping and getting anyone from the airport, but you are responsible for shipping costs and getting yourself to Los Angeles if you plan on driving it home. I’m happy to answer any questions you might have regarding this car. Thanks
