Vehicle Detail

For Sale,1956 Nash Rambler Super. We have owned this car for about 25 years. We bought it from Plank Motors, an AMC Dealer in Cortland NY. The faded used car stock sticker is still on the side window. I believe Plank bought it at the Red Rose auction in Manheim PA. It had been a Florida car prior to that. This is a good solid old Nash Rambler with the overhead valve 6 -cylinder motor, and 3 speed manual transmission. The paint is in good condition and this car left the factory in Red and White. The chrome is driver quality with some pitting on the pot metal pieces. The rear bumper has some small dents in the center that could be covered with a bumper sticker. The interior has had seat covers on it as long as we have owned it. I think they were put on when the car was new. The cover has worn through where the driver sits, and the original upholstery underneath is showing wear in that area. We have never had the covers off. The headliner was replaced with proper material many years ago and has two small spots that have been patched by the rear window. The odometer reads 59673 and we have driven it less than 3000 miles in the last 25 years. The car has not been driven regularly since 1999. It started right up when I took it out of storage to take the pictures for this listing. It was running a little rough so I gave it a complete tune up and replaced the carburetor. It now starts and runs well. The brakes are up and the tread on the old Sears Allstate wide whites is like new with less than 2500 miles on them. The white walls are a little yellowed. The picture of the trunk shows the no rust spare tire well. The trunk has not been painted since it left the factory. The right rear door glass is cracked. This old Nash Rambler gets a lot of attention whenever it is taken out. The red and white paint and distinctive grill make this car really stand out. At a car show or cruse night people will walk right past a 56 Chevy to look at this Rambler. We are down sizing our collection and have decided to offer the 56 Nash for sale here on E-Bay. We also have a 59 Rambler wagon and the 56 no longer gets the attention it deserves. If you can give it a good home the car car be seen in Groton, NY. I welcome your inspection and questions before the auction ends. Cliff 607-838-3311
