FOR SALE: 1971 Maserati Indy 4.9 liter V-8, 4 dual downdraft Webers, automatic transmission, vacuum assisted 4 wheel disk brakes, aluminum wheels, power windows, A/C, concealed headlights, rear window defogger, black Connelly leather interior, black Wilton wool carpets, wood steering wheel, full instrumentation, dual fuel tanks with electric fuel pumps, intermittent wipers, seat belts, complete instrumentation, heated rear window, multi-band radio, power antenna. The Maserati Indy is a roomy, comfortable 4 passenger exotic car. It has great styling and a powerful engine. The 1971 version has the best instrument panel of all the Indys and very comfortable seats. This car is in very good condition. The paint is nice but does have chips, minor cracks and scrapes under the nose. The original leather interior is in good condition. The floors were replaced before I purchased it and the car had been painted. Improvements made during my ownership include, new radiator, new carpet except in trunk area, new front retractable seat belts, new rear hatch lift struts, new fan belts and most hoses, new door weather-strips, new hood lift struts, steering wheel refinished, new voltage regulator, new fuel hoses, new spark plug wires, new brake booster vacuum hoses, rebuilt master cylinder, rebuilt transmission, replaced piston rings, performed a valve job and valve adjustment. I purchased the car in 2002. Since then, it has been driven regularly and frequently. During my ownership I have replated, repainted and serviced many items not listed. This has been one of my favorite cars. I have owned many Maseratis and I have had very little trouble driving the cars regularly. I drive one of the 6 I own as much as I can and have had year of trouble free motoring. Problems: Air conditioning does not work Minor scratches in rear glass Various chips and small cracks in paint Headlight switch on column does not operate correctly, switch has been bypassed and headlight raise and work. Remember this car is a 39 year old car. It is not a show car but it is a great daily driver. The paint, interior and chrome are very presentable. The engine and drive train are in good condition.
