Vehicle Detail
I have a nice 1968 Lemans which the previous owner started GTO clone. It passed VA inspection no problems, It is not a numbers matching car. It originally had a straight 6 with a 3 speed, which I have had converted to a 383 Stroker/405 HP/440 torque and a 350 Turbo trans, both with less than 2500 miles on them. Engine was built by Blueprint engines, look at their website: http://www.blueprintengines.com/index.php/gm-383-bp3830ct1 installed by an authorized shop, still has a warranty which is transferrable to the winning bidder. Strong engine mounts, the best Summit Racing has for this car. Its got plenty of power, and girls love it... Most of the new upgrades were done approx 2 years ago, and has been driven at least monthly for the last year. Trans is from Phoenix engines, phoenix, AZ. Has all new wiring with spade type fuses, new magnaflow dual exaust, new brake, fuel and trans cooling lines. Hooker super comp headers, (showing some wear now) front disc brake conversion kit with hydroboost brake system, (big cam, little vacuum at idle) MSD ignition, Edelbrock 650 carb, Taylor 8MM plug wires, Chrome 140 amp alternator, dual Elect. cooling fans (w automatic turn on relay, and redundant manual dash switch, never runs over 200 degrees) as well as mechanical fan. 4 row core special order radiator. Suspension: completely updated frame down, global west upper and lower tubular control arms, hotchkis 1 inch lowering springs, KYB shocks, all other front susp. replaced. Polyurethane bushings as well. Replaced rear coil springs and added air shocks for proper ride height. The rear end is stock. New trunk welded in. BnM shifter, Hanline gauges, remainder of interior stock. Newer BFG Tires, and Cragar SS wheels. The top is in great shape, was replaced before I bought the car, and has a glass rear window, not the cheap plastic one. Also.. I have 2 extra doors that go with it and a car cover. The picky stuff.. the up/down switch for the top needs to be replaced. Works going up, but I jump the switch with a wire to have it go down. You can find a switch many places online. The paint is ok, shows signs of wear from an avg prior paint job. It really needs a good paint job to make it shine, Id say its about a 20 footer. The valve cover gasket on the right side needs to be replaced, it leaks a bit. The carb is running either rich or lean, dont know too much about them, should be an easy fix if you do. speedometer shows about 20 mph slower than actual speed, Im told the drive or driven gear in the trans is wrong, or a speedometer cal. shop can re-calibrate it. It does show wear in the usual places since it is 42 years old. Im Starting the bidding at close to a third of what I have invested in this car and Im selling it because of a divorce. She did very well, so it has to go. It is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end it early if necessary. I will help out with shipping companies the best I can. Good luck, and thanks for looking. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=afXq6iXOa7s see video of this car here.
