My auction is for a white 1981 Corvette that I have owned for 4 years, put 1,900 miles on it. I bought it from an individual and I believe he was the 2nd owner and had owned it for a number of years. He told me that the original t-tops were stolen when it was rather new by breaking a side window (passenger window has corner etched glass, driver's does not). Tires were replaced just prior to my purchase. The A/C does NOT work, I had it serviced but the charge only held for about an hour. It has had 1 major service by local Corvette experts Hunt & Knight Automotive in July 2009. They replaced the master cylinder and did a complete front brake job including rotors, pads, calipers and hoses. A performance and safety inspection was conducted at that time, no recomendations were offered. It has a clean Carfax report. To my knowledge everything works on it except the A/C and the electric door locks work to lock but not to unlock. The tops are glass and to my great surprise they do not leak! The radio is not original, it is the slide out type with a handle, Kenwood with cassette. The red leather seats are not faded but has 2 cracks in the drivers seat and 1 in the passenger. There is a crack above the rearview mirror (pictured) but none in the dash. It has electric windows and locks, all gauges work including clock. All lights work including the dome. The driver's front marker light is cracked (pictured). The lower front valance is split (pictured). The paint is original and has normal wear. The wiperblades have a smooth action. I'm short so I use the tilt constantly but the telescopic wheel stays all the way in but I believe that it works properly too. I love this car and it has been a dream come true to own a C3 Corvette!!
