Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a 1981 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe Pickup. It has the original 250 CID inline six cylinder with a three speed column-shift transmission. It has manual front disc brakes with rear drums and power steering. Unlike a lot of six cylinder trucks, this one has a high rear axle ratio so it cruises down the highway without straining. Inside, the original seat has a seat cover and the dash pad has a carpet overlay. The floor is covered with the original rubber floor mat. Everything in the steering column functions. The turn signals work and the column shifter does not have any extra wear or play. The windows roll up and down effortlessly and the vent glasses can be turned in and out easily. The truck has a 1980s era Sparkomatic AM/FM/Cassette radio that works well. The odometer reads 89563, but I have no way of verifying if that is actual mileage. The bed of the truck has an aftermarket bed line with a steel crossover toolbox. The body of the truck is in pretty good shape, which is the reason I bought it in the first place. The paint is in fair shape. However, there are two repairable rust spots on the truck – one is on the bottom of the driver’s side door and the second is behind the rear wheel on the passenger’s side. I have included pictures of both of these places. I encourage all potential bidders to look at the truck in person if this is a concern. I bought this truck from a friend of mine in Atlanta who had been driving it to work every day. He sold it because he wanted a later model truck. When I bought it, the truck was driven from Atlanta to my home, outside Memphis, which says a lot about the condition of the engine. I am selling the truck because I just don’t have time for it anymore and I am ready to pass my project to someone else. The truck is being sold as is with no warranty either expressed or implied. Winning bidder has seven days after the close of auction to pick up the truck.
