Up for Auction is a Cool 1968 VW Bug. Everybody wanted to buy this from me when I first got it, but I didn't want to sell it. Especially some friends of mine that can't drive a manual transmission. So I added about ten more cars to my collection since buying this about three years ago and now it has to go because i'm out of room! So help me Overcome my Car Horders problem and buy this! It has the Rare Autostick Transmission. Sits Low and Looks Cool! I got this a few years ago, and never did anything with it. I just can't keep it because I have too many vehicles. It starts up and runs good. Transmission works good. It has not been driven for a few years, tabs are expired. Brakes were stuck on it from sitting so long, but broke free when I moved it from storage. It does stop, but I would give the brakes an inspection. I installed a new battery and generator when I first got it, but the battery needs a good charge or maybe replaced because it needs to be jumped when it sits for long periods. The Engine runs good! Doesn't smoke or knock. Not sure what size engine it has. The block has this numbers stamped on it. H0490742. It has a Chrome and louvered firewall, and a cool degree wheel on the crank pulley. Stock Steel Wheels with Factory Hub Caps and Remington Himax Radials 165-15's with good tread. Custom Porsche Speedster Front Turn Signals. Custom Louvered Running Boards. Custom Louvered Trunk/Deck Lid. Lowered in front. Not sure how. (See Pics). Tires rub a little when turning hard. It has Bug Pack front Shocks. Nice Muffler with Dual Chrome Tips. The Interior has been Completely Re-done. It could use a good cleaning. Seats and Door Panels are done in a two tone Black and Gray Fabric. It has new plastic trim pieces around the inside door handles, but needs the screws to attach them. Drivers front seat stitching is coming apart by the head rest area (see pics). Headliner is Gray Fabric and Sun Visors are Black Vinyl. Black carpeting isn't perfect, but works. Stock Steering Wheel has some cracks. Head lights, (High and Low Beam),Tail Lights, Parking Lights, Brake Lights all work fine. Wipers work. Horn and Cassette Stereo not working or hooked up. The turn Signal Switch will need to be replaced. Turn signals not working. One parking light is not coming on. Probably a bulb. Wipers and Gas Gauge work too. All Glass is good! It is Missing one of the Inside Window Cranks or Handles. Windows Roll up and down but may need some oiling. It does have some extra window regulators under the hood (trunk area). Has a Custom Wolfenburg Emblem Etched in the Windshield. It is Basically Straight. It has Small Dings and Dents. The Paint is Flat Black and Gloss Black in places. Paint it or run it Rat Bug Style! I believe the Factory color is White. Paint is Peeling off in Spots. No Major Rust out that I can see, except in the front pan area (inside the trunk area under the hood.) See Pics. No rust out in the pan that I can see by looking under the car. It does have a few Bubbles here and there. Doors open and shut good. Inside Hood Release Handle is broken, but still can be opened with some plyers on the cable end. I drove it home a few years ago and it drove great. Transmission is 3 Speed Automatic but still has to be shifted manually (no clutch). I haven't driven it on the road for a while so it might need some routine driving to make it road worthy again.
