Vehicle Detail
For your bidding pleasure, I present to you what may very well be the ultimate one-of-a-kind, unusual, head-turner, custom hybrid motorcycle car trike on the planet. This is a 1997 Honda Goldwing, VW Beetle hybrid. The pictures don't even manage to do this jawdropper justice. It is in essence a 1997 1000 Goldwing mptorcycle (minus front forks, fenders, bars and seat) mated to a custom built chassis with a stock early VW Bug front steering, brake and suspension out front. The BeetleWing was created in 2006 from a 32,640 mile Goldwing and presently has 36,790 miles showing on the odometer. It is equipped with the stock Honda 5 speed with elect reverse, and stock Honda rear air adjustable suspension and disc brakes. All cockpit gauges are stock Goldwing and all seem to operate. The accellerator, clutch and brake are on the floor, rear brake is hand operated on rt side, shifter is mounted on left side of seat. Front wheels are custom and are 17 in diameter and app. 8 in in width. Front tires are Exocet 205 40Z R17/ 80W and appear to be new. The body shell is fiberglass with non operating lexan windows. The paint and trim are very presentable. Front and rear turn signals work, as do stoplights tailights and rear Goldwing running lights. Headlights do not. Center mount wiper works. Horns (air horns) work. Starts right up and runs smoothly. Stops on a dime. The accellerator linkage from the pedal rearward is binding and needs to be redone or adjusted, and the clutch and shifter linkages are sloppy and should be better sorted out. Needs someone who likes tinkering with stuff like that. Its light and obviously fast and its presence can certainly attract a crowd. It's not a head-turner, more like a neck-snapper. Probably not a good vehicle for introverts, but you can sure find it in the parking lot. My reserve is less than the cost of a used Goldwing engine so the new owner"s going to get a lot of bang for the buck. Delivery possible for reasonable fee.
