I just bought another car and don't need this one. It's been a great car, and with some tlc can go much further. The good: New windshield. Cold AC!!! Tires are like new BF Goodrich. Clean title. New half shafts/cv axle. Struts replaced at 120,000, they were not bad. The guy at the auto shop couldn't figure out what the crackling noise is. So he replaced all the struts. Just past emissions in February no problem. Non smoker owned. Runs strong, no smoke. Timing belt, clutch and wheel alignment done at 80,000. Replaced brake pads at 123,000. No check engine lights. Still gets great gas mileage. Costs about $26 to fill up at about $2.60/gal., and it lasts me a week and a half to two weeks. I may spend $70/month on gas (20 miles each way, just to work). Cheap insurance, I pay $20 a month for state minimum. The bad: Engine is making an random clicking noise. I think it may be the throw out bearing, but can't make any promises. Oil leak. When the weather gets cold the front end makes a crunching sound when going over speed bumps and the like (as if the cv joints are bad), hence the strut replacements, and the cv axle(s) replacements. Still didn't fix it. I think it may be the rubbers, but not sure.It's been doing it since 40,000 miles, without a problem. It's more annoying than anything. Paint is faded. Clock doesn't work, because the way the radio was installed (damn neighbor hack job). CD on radio doesn't work, radio will stop working sometimes (the connectors on the face plate is worn). The ugly: The interior is something to be desired. The drivers seat is torn, and the others are stained (kids + crayons + AZ sun). Shifter boot is torn. Missing vent on dash. Camelback toyota stole it to fix another car when I was having it serviced. I believe the toyota collision center next door came over and took it.. This is a good car, like I said, a little work and it can keep going. I'm not a young kid that raced it or abused it. It has been my commuter car for almost 13 years with only routine maintenance, never broke down on me. The Fair/low kbb is $1,245, and is described as... * Some mechanical or cosmetic defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. * Clean title history, the paint, body and/or interior need work performed by a professional. * Tires may need to be replaced. * There may be some repairable rust damage. which I believe is a close representation.
