Here is listing for a vehicle that will need some work. Please be realistic when placing bids on this Chrysler, it will require some additional repairs and money to make it comfortable and safe. If you have neither the additional funds or expertise to make the repairs...DO NOT BID ON IT.
This is a 1999 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with 132,000 miles. The exterior is Charcoal Gray metallic and does have some cosmetic issues. There are dings/scrapes and scratches on almost every panel. The headlamps are "cloudy", but that is easily fixed with a kit available at most auto parts stores. We did our best to give this Chrysler a shine, and believe it is a "10 footer". From a distance of 10 feet, it looks pretty good.
The interior is Medium Gray leather with 3 rows of seating. The leather is in good condition without excessive wear. The power windows and locks are working, as is the radio. The air conditioning is blowing warm and will require a recharge/repair. There is lots of room for passengers or cargo with the seats folded. This van could also be used in a commercial application as a delivery vehicle by removing the seats.
The 3.8 V6 engine fires right up and seems to runs good. There are some oil leaks from unknown sources, but we suspect the the oil pan and valve cover gaskets. The transmission shifts through all the gears during a brief road test.
The tires are non matching, with 3 Bridgestones and 1 Definity with all having 8/32" treadwear remaining. The right front tire is worn on the outer edge, so there could be an alignment issue with the front end.They are mounted on the factory chrome wheels that are in very good shape.
We sent this minivan through our shop for a safety inspection. Our tech found the front brakes/rotors to be badly worn and unsafe, the battery to have a weak cell, right front tire flat and the transmission pan is leaking. We did replace the front brake pads/rotors, replaced the flat tire with a spare and installed a replacement battery. The trans pan leak repair will be left to the next owner. That is the extent of the work done to this Chrysler.
We do have the owner's booklets, but no prior service records.
Again, this is a NO RESERVE auction, so let's be realistic about what this van is all about. It has high miles and needs some work, we have disclosed all we know.
