Up for auction is a 1954 AJS model 18S, 500 cc single. Engine # is 5418S25163. Affectionately known as plodders, and frequently used for pulling chairs (side cars) , this one has been stored indoors for the past 10 years. The tires are 3.25X19 in front with a Goodyear, and 4.00X19, with a Dunlop in the rear. They have tread, and lots of weather checking, so I wouldn't go too fast on these. Maybe OK for a short weekend jaunt to the donut shop, but I wouldn't venture much beyond that. It has not been ridden in 10 years. The paint is ok, plenty good enough for a weekend putter, and the chrome is, lets call it old, what is left of it, and needs to be redone. The bike has both the center stand, and the side stand. I have not laid my hands on the title yet, and if I cannot find it real soon, I will get another one for the buyer, prior to pick up. Thanks for looking in.
