I have decided to sell my 1964 Super Sport Impala as much as I enjoy it. The only reason that i am selling it is due to space in the garage, and my desire for a manual transmission. Given the modifications that this vehicle came with(obtained list from previous owner), my original plan was to convert this 64 Chevy into a 4-speed(had several manual transmission 64 chevy's years ago and just have to have a 4speed) and enjoy it for years! I have owned the car for a few months and have really enjoyed driving it, while i usually just drove it around the local neighborhood as i work from home. The vehicle is in overall good shape, however please understand that it is not a car that was meant to sit in a garage and collect dust, i purchased with the intentions of enjoying it on the road as the previous owner did. I came across a deal on a 64 SS impala almost identical to this one but was already a manual and i could not turn it down, unfortunately my garage will not allow for two 64's so one has to go. The vehicle does have an aftermarket air conditioning system, however the compressor blew a seal due to an overfill and needs to be replaced along with the belt; once done it should blow ice cold as it did before (much better than factory). This 1964 Super Sport Impala is in good shape overall. Its exterior looks much better than most 64 Chevy's of this vintage. The red paint is in good condition for the age. Most other red 64 chevy's are falling apart while this one enjoys the roads. The car was wiped down however not detailed for the pictures below. While the exterior of the car looks pretty good, it's not perfect. No car is. I'm trying to be honest and don't want to lead you on. The car has some places where the paint has been chipped and touched up. On the deck lid there is about a 2"x2" section of paint that needs attention. I tried to capture these in the pics, but thought that I was obligated to mention it in the description. Also the rocker panel could use some attention. This car has a lot of nice modifications that are listed above. It has been street tuned and has served the purpose well, however if i was going to keep it i would recommend hooking up a wide band o2 gauge and do a fine tune to make it run to the best of its ability. I never once raced the car or drove it hard so the street tune worked well for me ( i kept the tune a little rich as Ive always been taught better rich than lean) The 1964 Chevrolet Impala Super Sport is one of the most sought after classic cars. The classic cars are getting more difficult to find, particularly ones that have not already been modified to be a low rider. This model sports the 350 cubic inch motor that has been replaced along with the upgraded parts listed above. At the same time of the motor build, the transmission was also upgraded and was built with longevity in mind. The car shifts nice and firm which is what was desired in the build. Please keep in mind while the car looks good (pictures were taken Sunday July 25th, 2010) it is not a show car, however I'm also not asking $30,000 for it. Purchase this car to drive and enjoy.
