Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is this nice low mileage economy car i purchased for use on my job. This car's mileage is verified by a carfax report i have. I had purchased it thinking i would use it as a vehicle i could tow behind the new trucks i deliver all over the country. Once i arrived at my destination, i would deliver the truck, unhook this car, and drive it back home, sometimes as far away as 1500 miles. Because i planned to use it for myself and potentially drive great distances, i tried to make it as reliable as possible. i immediately did a full clutch job, including rear main seal, clutch disc, plate, and throwout bearing. i replaced the complete gearshift lever with a new one to remove any 'slop' in the mechanism. Did an amsoil 25,000 mile oil and filter change and cleaned the fuel injection system. This was all done less than 500 miles ago. I subsequently found a 2001 vw jetta 5 speed car at a very good price, bought it, and use it on my job. The nissan became another second car. Recently, and with no warning, the timing chain slipped, and i believe bent valves in the head. The car does not crank, although it was running great up to that point. So, the good: Great georgia car body. no rust, major dents. Great original pearl white paint. Very clean cloth interior, dash and door panels. Good air conditioning, cruise, power windows, locks. Transmission great, no problems. Good brakes, steering, tires, exhaust. Tires maybe 40 percent. Great looking car, inside and out. the bad: Needs timing chain kit with guides, probably rebuilt cylinder head. But that is all it needs to be a great running/looking economy car. The 2.4 litre nissan engine is a very long lived engine. Nissan just used some plastic parts in the timing chain tensioners that wear out much too early and cause this problem. Fix this, and you have a car good for another 150,000 miles! I have about 8 years as a professional auto mechanic. A lower back problem along with finances do not allow me to do any more 'wrenching', so i am selling the car as is and willing to take a loss. It is my goal to be a good ebayer, so if more pics are needed or any more info i can share, please contact me. Car will be sold with good Georgia title. Bidders with less than 5 positive feedback will be rejected. sOn Aug-23-10 at 20:09:03 PDT, seller added the following information: ******************************************************************************************************* ******************************************************************************************************** As a result of bidders who can't abide by the rules, let me state two things: I have tried to describe this auto to the best of my ability. I hope anyone bidding realizes that it is a non-running car! Also, I had stated that bidders with less than 5 positive feedback will be rejected. Obviously, there are those who feel they don't have to 'play by the rules'. since this is a relist due to a bidder who felt no obligation to stand by their bid, I WILL enforce my rules. Any bidder with less than 5 positive feedback will have their bid cancelled if they have not contacted me by telephone by 9 AM EST 08/24/10. I apoligize to the good bidders who have watched/bid on this item. I wish good luck to those good bidders. *********************************************************************************************************
