Vehicle Detail

kriegel Store These Model T’s are great fun to drive and own. They certainly draw a crowd and are easy to work on and repair. If you collect and admire cars, you should own one of the 15,000,000 Model T’s built of which only 250,000 approximately remain at least once. They are supported by the Model T Ford Club of America and many local Clubs. All repair parts are available in 2-3 days from numerous suppliers such as Mac's and Snyder's Video of car running after tune up Since I retired I buy, inspect, repair and trade Model T's as a hobby after 40 years working on cars as a hobby. This car was bought three weeks ago after storage in Georgia and Alabama since the early 1980's then in Indiana where it had a new exhaust and interior done. After I get done working on them - and they are a better car than when I bought them - I sell them and buy another to tinker on.. I have been selling on EBAY since 1999. The great points on this car is it runs well and has a new interior which was nicely done with brass hammered tacks Has a very solid body. Inspection of car appears to be brand new gas tank and for certain new exhaust pipe pulled head to inspect cylinders - appear good. No visible water or other leaks evident in the head gasket All valves are good no burned or sticking valves. Slight ticking valve noise but valves check good (see pictures) Two weak coils replaced All spark plugs replaced Spark plug wires replaced has original Model T style fuel filter, was leaking at horizontal feed connection, , repaired oil changed, Rebuilt carburetor with new air fuel mixture valve and air needle --Float needle was well seated and kept in place. added original copy carbuator radiator brass choke wire set timing cleaned timer headlamps needed rewired. Added Headlamps new sockets and connectors and bulbs work fine head lamps work fine but one is original mirrored and one painted chrome Both reflect well Has kerosene rear tail light Added electric tail light . Horn button bad and wiring shot. Repaired horn button, rewired, added aoogaha horn Added new battery 12 volt Added 2 dash 12 volt power outlets for your G.P.S., telephone charger , radio etc. wheels are good brakes are good tested magneto output and magnets car runs on magneto Magneto AC voltage at idle 18 volts AC Car runs well on magneto car bought with no current title but with a title search. Properly had car inspected and VIN number checked, proper clear Indiana title issued Inspected for safety by Indiana State Police in order to get a title New VIN plate added to firewall Top included but needs work. Bows are in good shape. Prior owner reports 2 mice holes in top. Also about 5 inches of one hinge mount is broken and will need replaced. I tend not to use a top and only drive in good weather Body is solid and paint is a 20 to 30 footer. Has some sheen left in paint but numerous paint chips scratches etc. Should be repainted for show but great driver for now This is all I found - underside of car has some surface dirt and rust and needs cleaned up I describe the cars probably in worse terms than the cars really are, as I would rather a buyer be pleasantly surprised when they get it rather than be disappointed. The Touring is the most popular model and will bring the second highest prices if you add some work to the body appearance ( brass model T's are the most expensive) This is NOT a Brass T but a nice car. PRIOR OWNERS DESCRIPTION OF CAR "1920 FORD MODEL T TOURING. RUNS AND DRIVES WELL, FUN CAR FOR PARADES OR RUNNING AROUND IN. NEW INTERIOR, NEW EXHAUST. WHEELS ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION, BODY IS VERY SOLID. CAR WAS STORED IN ALABAMA FROM 1957 UNTIL 2006. TOP INCLUDED, NEEDS RECOVERED. TOP BOWS ARE ALSO VERY NICE CONDITION. THIS CAR STARTS EASILY AND DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD LIKE IT SHOULD. COWL LAMPS AND TAIL LAMP ALL WORK, HEADLIGHTS NEED REWIRED. (NEW HARNESS INCLUDED)." I always include a Model T Ford maintenance manual and, if you have never owned a Model T, a bunch of accumulated knowledge. I also have videos on you tube on how to start and drive the Model T cars. Any questions please ask Engine is well tuned and will do a hot start 2 out of 6 tries in testing on a cold engine On Aug-19-10 at 11:40:28 PDT, seller added the following information: Folks are asking how I get a "hot start" first have a good engine, carb and ignition system running well. Then, if you have the proper ratio of gas to air in the cylinder, you have better than a 1 in 16 chance ( figure 1 of 4 spark plugs will spark, 1 in 4 chance on a 4 cycle engine piston will be top dead center or after top dead center on the cylinder that sparks) I always try a hot start first Then if it fails with key off and throttle open I pre load cylinders with gas by cranking 4 times, choke pulled then try again If it fails again with throttle cracked open I turn engine over twice so I do not flood engine With this method, in reality I am getting 1out of -4 or 2 out of 6 hot starts this is better than my engine theory of the number I should get (1 out of 16) I do not know why On Aug-19-10 at 15:59:39 PDT, seller added the following information: To answer questions, this car does not have an electric starter or generator The engine runs off the original magneto or battery Electric starters were an option on Model T's in the early years I do not want any confusion On Aug-20-10 at 08:11:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Answering more questions I have all the hardware for the top received today I will post pictures of the car with the top Indiana State police inspect antique cars for safe road worthy before Indiana will grant a title will they run, reverse, brake, lights and horn work and does it appear road worthy On Aug-21-10 at 12:21:57 PDT, seller added the following information: The top hardware has been repaired and mounted on car. It is a one man not a two man top ( takes one man to raise it) top is heavy tan duck canvas ? Top is not tacked down to bows or car back of car. Top to me is very usable I did find two small holes the size of a quarter and one seam on the right front appears to have come un sewn 7 inches pictures to follow tonight On Aug-21-10 at 17:00:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Photos of the top on the car look sloppy because the front and back are not attached so the fabric and top in the middle sag I just wanted to show that all the parts are there (worth between 600 and 1,000 in parts from what I have seen when they become available ) On Aug-23-10 at 07:04:56 PDT, seller added the following information: Thank you all for your bids I have a 1926 Roadster arriving to his week and my wife will be glad she can get into her garage I use a local car shipping company you may want to call them as they seem to be cheaper than using ebays auto broker s their number here is 574 848 7699 On Aug-23-10 at 15:29:50 PDT, seller added the following information: Answering questions on the transmission I visually inspected gears and drums. Gears appear sharp and clean cut drums are shinny with no visible pitting or cracks so overall I say the transmission is very good
