This is a beautiful, absolutely well-cared for original Pininfarina Spider 2000 convertible, completely garaged since new, and only 47,914 original miles as well as original paint! First, I love this car, but I have a car collection that I am winding down to a smaller scale due to space constrictions. I have no choice but to make the tough decision to sell this car. I am the third owner of this car, having bought it in 2004. Prior to my ownership, a dentist in Idaho owned and babied the car for well over 15 years, and then another owner garaged it for five years also. Mechanically, this Spider is perfect. The engine compression is at brand new levels. I owned two different Fiat 2000 Spiders in the 1980's and this car has been the best in terms of quality and no issues. Top is like new, interior, like new. There is only one defect, a crack on the dash, however, I have a brand new tan colored dash in the manufacturer's plastic that I will include with the Spider if it sells for the right price. This car has been modified in only one area: the flimsy designed "mickey mouse" side mirrors were replaced by the previous owner with more stable chrome side mirrors attached to the body. That is it. The rest of the car is perfect...no rust at all on the body!! A comment about bidding: Several cars of this condition has been sold for between $7000 and $12,000 recently. I have a low reserve. There is not one crease on the plastic rear window or the top itself when it is fully latched to the car. I have seen numerous tops that have creases. This top is really in new condition with no scratches at all in the rear window. The engine compartment is in almost new to 3 year old condition as is the body exterior and interior. In essence, this car is in restored condition, though it has not been restored. The car has simply been garaged and taken very good care of. A review of many sites like Yahoo Auto, Auto Trader will show a car of this condition going from $10K to $14K. While the reserve is low, this car will not be sold if it does not meet reserve or better....I will build another garage to keep it :>)
