Mercedes built a very limited amount of these gorgeous 2 door coupes and there are just not many left in the condition this one are in. This car was finished in this very elegant Champagne color (MB color code 473) with palomino color interior. Yes the interior is great condition for its age. This car was always garaged and it shows. The paint is in amazing condition and it really shines like on a new car. There are minor dings or scratches, which is normal for a car of this age (original paint). The interior is super clean as the pictures will show. The seats are free of rips or tears, the carpets are clean and even the wood is still in great condition. This car really does not look like it is 27 years old inside or out. But the best thing is the way it drives .It only has 183k miles on it, which is nothing on a 5-cylinder Mercedes diesel. They are about the most reliable and durable engines Mercedes ever built. With the right maintenance, they are known to go for over 500k miles without any major engine work. There are several cars with that engine on E-bay right now with more than 400k miles and still running well. This car always starts up right away. It has lots of pick up and is not slow at all. It cruises comfortably at 85-90 mph while still getting 27-28 mpg of diesel. The transmission shifts smooth and quickly through all the gears. There are no known mechanical issues or any deferred maintenance. There are no oil leaks. The Air-conditioning has been converted to R134 and it blows ice cold . The tires have less than 600 miles on them. I’ve just recently we had a complete service done, including adjusting the valves, changing oil and filters, installing a new hood insulation and performing a diesel purge. I would not hesitate to just get in and drive it to New York and back. The 123 series Mercedes coupes are continuing to appreciate in value every year. This should make a clean low mileage car like this one also an excellent and practical investment. The 5-cylinder engine is also the perfect candidate for Bio-diesel conversion. This way you could drive this car on vegetable oil or free waste oil from restaurants. I have never tried it on this car, but with gas prices the way they are, it sounds like a good idea.
