Vehicle Detail
This is a 2002 Toyota Sienna LE minivan which we purchased from Shore's Auto in Towanda on 8/04. We are the second owners. The owners of Shore's Auto were using it as their family vehicle prior to sale, and it has been well-maintained all it's years on the road. It had 65,000 mi on it when purchased in '04. Current mileage at posting is 202, 881 but it may have a few more miles on it at sale since we are still driving it this week. My husband has kept all the maintenance records from the years we have had it, and has serviced it/changed oil religiously every 3000 miles. It will be due for an oil change after purchase if you will be driving it. We did not change it again in case someone only planned to buy it for parts. It is inspected until 5/11 in Pennsylvania, and has 3 newer tires (I had 3 flats in a row, one or two months in between each, newest tire is only a month old). Small dent right quarter panel next to hood courtesy of baseball season. Crease and scratches on power door from door being opened too close to another vehicle whose door was also open. Not involved in any accidents, title is clear. Small rust bubbles forming on hood and just above license plate on trunk. We live on a dirt road, so there is some road dust on the engine and in the door jams, I cleaned the vehicle as best as I could, but I did not clean the engine. Interior seats are all clean and intact, the carpet needs a good scrubbing and is stained (why they put light tan carpet in a "family" van is beyond me). Mechanically, it passed inspection, but has had an ongoing issue the past 2 years with "running lean" per the mechanic. The check engine light has been on and off at least the past 2 years due to this problem and is on now. We replaced two oxygen sensors 6 months ago, and it has been running much better, but it still does not like short distances (if you drive it around the block and then park it, most likely you will have to try several times to get it going again, give it gas, and go. Once it is warmed up it is fine. I started it with no problem the last 3 days I used it this week.) Mechanic was unable to tell us definitely what would improve the problem, possibly sensors again or maybe catalytic converter. Transmission has never needed to be replaced, and does not make noise, but we notice it tends to take a little longer to shift lately so wouldn't be surprised if that is an issue in the future. There is currently a recall on this model for the spare tire cord that holds the spare under the van, I guess there were problems with rusting and tires getting loos. You can take it to your nearest Toyota dealer for free repair, or just throw the tire in the trunk, which is what we had planned to do. Has been very reliable for us over the years, but we have 3 cars and that is one too many, so this one is departing. I see that AutoCheck is flagging this for odometer discrepancy from 8/04. We are unaware of any odometer discrepancy, my guess is whoever wrote up the title transfer when we purchased it just wrote a number wrong? Also, we aren't aware of a third owner, as reported by AutoCheck, perhaps they are counting delivery to the car dealership?
