Vehicle Detail

This is my prized Porsche 944, which I have had for 4 years, and completely went through almost every nook and cranny there is. It is in immaculate condition inside and out, underneath and in the engine bay. This thing will fly down the road, and do it in style and comfort. I hate to have to sell this car, but we have run into some financial problems, so it has to go, even though it breaks our hearts. The car is equipped as follows: The 1984 Porsche 944 was everything that the previous 924 should have been. Introduced in May of 1982, the 944 gained instant success. The first 944s were 1983 models. They came with a 2.5 liter inline 4 cylinder motor. The chassis and body shell were from the 924, but the new model had flared fenders, a rear spoiler, and a front air dam. Everything that was flawed in the 924, such as inadequate driving space between the seat and steering wheel, was corrected in the 944. A special balance shaft design was used on the 944 to keep the noise level and shaking down, which were problems on the 924. Specifications Engine: 8 valve SOHC in-line 4, aluminum block and heads Bore and Stroke: 3.94 x 3.11 in (100.0 x 78.9 mm) Displacement:151 cu.in. or 2479cc Horsepower: 177@5,800 rpm Torque: 170@3,000 rpm Power to weight ratio: 18.0 lbs per horsepower Compression ratio: 9.7:1 Fuel system: Bosch LE Jetronic Drivetrain: 5 speed manual transmission Suspension: Front: MacPherson struts with lower A-arms, coil springs, tube shocks, anti-roll bar Rear: Semi-trailing arms, torsion bars, tube shocks, anti-roll bar Dimensions: Curb weight: 2,965 lbs Wheelbase: 94.5" Length: 168.9" Width: 68.3" Height: 50.2" Track front/rear: 58.2"/57.1" Ground clearance: 4.7" Brakes and Wheels: Vacuum assisted, fixed caliper, internally vented discs 15x7.0" front, 15x7.0" rear cast aluminum wheels Fuel Economy: 25 mpg (city) 26 mpg (hwy) Performance: 0-60mph: 7.7 seconds 0-1/4 mile: 16.4s Top Speed: 135 mph This car has lots of pep, engine runs flawlessly, transmission shifts as smooth as silk, and the brakes stop straight and strong. The interior is all original accept the aftermarket cd player that is installed. The dash has some typical heat cracks, which most all of the do, but ebay has dash caps that will cover it nicely for around $75. The car is equipped with a/c, which works, but does not really blow all that cold. It may just need some freon. Right now, I have only 3 speakers hooked up, but there is space in the rear for two more, if you were to want to do that. The seats are really comfortable, once you get into the car. ( its sits really low!) Just trying to be honest :) On the outside, it has been completely taken apart and repainted with the factory Glasurit pearl basecoat/clearcoat paint. I then had it color-sanded and buffed, so it has pretty much a show car shine! I had all of the trim re-finished with the proper flat black paint also. So pretty much it looks brand new. My wife and I are very, very picky, so this is why we had all this done. This was our "date nite" car, as we have 3 children. Also, the car has a removable sunroof, which gives it a nice "convertable" feeling. The car has all the original owners manuals, tools, spare, air compressor for the spare, keys, and locks on the lug nuts. The pop-up headlites work flawlessly, and are pretty cool looking at nite. It also lites up the road well, for a 26 year old car! Although the car is not showroom perfect, there really is not much that i can think of that it needs, but to be as honest as possible, here is what I remember: The right drive axle is getting a little noise due to age. My mechanic told me that it is still safe, but will need a rebuild kit ($100) it makes a clicking sound under hard acceleration. The a/c does not blow that cold, although it does work. The rear tires are new, but the front tires are starting to show some wear, so plan on getting 2 new ones sometime in the future. The dash has the typical cracks. Other than that, I can't think of anything else that really stands out. The car doesnt even have a single scratch or ding on it, and has been stored in my climate controlled garage since I bought it. It just had a fresh oil change with mobil 1 synthetic and a fram filter. The Va state inspection is current until november. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions at all before bidding. I want you to be happy with the car, as we have been. One more thing, I have ordered new "944" and "porsche" decals for the rear, and they will be installed before the auction ends. I will add a pic as soon as they are on. If you have zero or negative feedback, please shoot me an e-mail before bidding. Car is 26 years old and is sold as-is where is with no warranty. Good luck and God Bless! On Aug-16-10 at 07:14:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Great news! I finally got the emblems for the back of the porsche today. I will upload a new picture later when I get them on! Thanks for all of the interest in the car!On Aug-16-10 at 17:47:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Reserve is just a hair about $4000. I have had a lot of people asking so I figured I would go ahead and say it. The car is worth way more than that, and should sell for more than that, but maybe not. Guess we will see!
