Vehicle Detail
If you know the name Willys, you probably know the name Chuck Finders. This poster represents one segment of the history of Chuck Finders Race Cars. The Poster, Chuck Finders Drag Racing Legend, is the first in a series of Chuck Finders Posters. This poster showcases race cars commonly thought of as cars that were owned by Chuck Finders. It features two shots of the Stone Woods Jr Cook & Chuck Finders 1933 Willys One of them by the renowned photographer, Pete Garramone, taken at the 1964 Winternationals. The other is a shot of the recreated SWC & Chuck Finders Willys as shot for the Matco Tools Calendar in 2003 with Playboy Playmate Buffy Tyler. This 1933 Willys is the original “Dark Horse” as named by Tim Woods in 1964 at Pomona for it’s un-expected performance. This poster also includes one of the most famous Gasser Wars Chuck Finders ads printed by B&M Automotive, INC. Meet a Bad Little Mouse which appeared in the February 1965 Issue of Popular Hot Rodding. The main captions read: “Meanwhile the Stone-Woods-Cook Chrysler-powered A/GS turned 145.39 MPH in 9.78 (also with a B & M Hydro-Stick). This is the first time a Chevy-powered coupe has run within 5 MPH of Stone-Woods-Cook on the same day at the same strip!” “FLASH!! November 7th at Fontana, Chuck upped his 1320 B/GS Record to 146.57 MPH in 9.76 E.T.” This is the SWC & Chuck Finders car… re-branded as the Altizer Finders Kibler aka “Traveler” Learn more about the history of Chuck Finders at www.chuckfinders.com.
