Vehicle Detail

"HAVE YOU DRIVEN A FORD LATELY?" Remember that slogan...? We do because that's about the time we purchased this 1986 Ford Tempo brand new from the local Ford dealer in Marietta, Ohio. THE STORY OF THE CAR THAT JUST WON'T QUIT RUNNING! Adult-driven since it rolled off the lot. Has never had kids or pets in it and always garaged on the weekends. Perfect service maintenance with a book of receipts and records to prove it. Never exceeded 2800 miles between oil changes; never driven over 3000 rpm. This was my wife's car and she finally parked this Tempo when she bought a new Ford Escape Hybrid. I have been driving this a couple times a week until just recently. We had four new tires approx a year ago and the tread is excellent. New tires and a full tank of gas makes any car worth at least $300! I think this would make someone a great everyday around town car or perhaps someone's first car and most definitely if you are handy and concerned about RELIABILITY not necessarily looks. What good is a great looking old car that won't start or worse yet, LEAVES YOU STRANDED! We're asking $625... but we will consider a fair offer. Go to a couple of car lots and tell them you want to see a RELIABLE CAR WITH GOOD TIRES, A CLEAN INTERIOR, A STRONG BATTERY AND STARTS EVERYTIME YOU TURN THE KEY and can't spend more than $625.00!!! I mentioned that I had been driving this a couple times a week until just recently. I discovered that it won't hold brake pressure. My guess: due to the car's age, probably a rusted/cracked brake line; I do not think it's the master cylinder. I noticed fluid leaking about midway under the car, NOT around the master cylinder, but I'm no mechanic! The A/C used to work, but I think it needs a charge which I hope to do this week. A friend of ours has done my other car before, and also installed our new home A/C, so he knows his business and should tell me what it needs this week. If it's a charge of freon of some other inexpensive issue, I will repair this, free of charge, for the new buyer. As you can see, it has a few rust areas on the body.... it's a 1986... we have decided to include that at no extra charge!!! The interior is excellent! The passenger seat and rear passenger areas usually carried a lunch sack Monday through Friday, and groceries on the weekend. NO KIDS AND NO PETS!!!
