Up for auction is a 1979 Pontiac Trans Am located in Queens, New York City. It's black w/gold bird decal kit.. The interior is black as well. It's an automatic transmission. It has T-Tops, power windows, power door locks(not working) and the Trans Am Snow Flake rims. The odometer reads 100137 miles. The interior is in good condition. The dashboard has some cracking on it. The exterior paint is in average shape. There are some scratches(see pics). There are some minor surface rust spots on the exterior. Underneath, the chasis is also in solid shape. I have not had her on a lift, I was told by the mechanic who did the oil change and water pump change that there was nothing more than normal wear underneath. It's the original engine( 6.6 Litre 403ci), transmission, and carb(as far as I know). The previous owner changed the rear end gears to 3.55 gears. The A/C compressor was also removed by the previous owner. The driver’s side T-Top does not sit correctly and does leak. It appears that the previous owner put new weather stripping on incorrectly and caused the front side of the t-top to not be flush. The car has given me no problems on drives from Pennsylvania to NYC and back. I have decided to sell her because I no longer have the time or funds to properly restore her to her original “Glory Days!” She is used infrequently and I feel that is an injustice, especially since 1979 was the final year of “The Big Blocks”.
