Vehicle Detail

Yes you may have seen this car for sale on Ebay before, this is the Third time I have listed the car on ebay. The first time I sold it the guy welched on the deal and did not pay. The second time the guy came to pick the car up and had some problems, he did not take the car and since then I have fixed the problem which was the fuel lines, which have all now been replaced and I have to admit the car drives better than ever. Below is the original ad, the one item that has changes is the ignition switch is now not working correctly. It can be used to start the car etc and works great in this respect, however it does not hold in the start position. I have a little trick with a clamp and an Allen wrench to keep this from springing back. I believe this is the electrical part of the switch, they are available on ebay for around $50 each. Due to this I have lowered the buy it now price as I really need the room. The car drives great and really is fun with the top off in the sun. It’s a 1973 Porsche 914 1.7L, I have owned the vehicle for nearly 4 years and its wonderful to drive on a sunny day with the top off. The interior is in good condition with the seat bases being replaced in the past, the dash has a topper on it which is black. The car has all new brakes and newer tires on the four touching the floor, the spare is an older tire. Last year the main seal and oil cooler seals were replaced, when purchased the pushrod tube seals were replaced. This was to stop a bad oil leak which is this cured. However the oil had soaked into the heater boxes and I had to remove them as they smoked pretty bad when the car was warm. All the valves and adapters are included in a box of spares. The air filter is also an aftermarket; the original is included in the box of parts. The mileage above is estimated as the speedo works but does not clock mileage. The paint is not the original it was a light blue color and now is burgundy or dark purple, the paint is not perfect, it some areas of sun damage and scratches in certain areas etc. The area under the battery has been damaged by battery acid, this was done a number of years ago. I have never really looked in detail at this area but the engine mounts and suspension mounting is all solid. This area has never given me any problems and I have never felt the need to fix the area. The front and rear trunks are solid and have no holes etc. There is a small amount of rust in the front floor panel, from the underside it seems fine but inside the car the panel has a small rust patch. The one problem which has develop recently is the ignition switch needs to be firmly turned clock wise when starting to make sure it does not spring back. I believe there was a problem with the switch in the past as it is push button start once the ignition is turn on. I hope this gives you enough information to spark some interest in buying this car, if there is any further information you require or you have any questions or need more pictures please contact me. This is truly a fun little car for the summer and cheap motoring. I'm listing this car locally, so I will end the auction if it is sold via this channel before the end. The Buyer is responsible for the transportation of the vehicle and the costs involved.
