About Me 1969 El Camino San Jose, CA 95110 Time in San Jose Vehicle Details Year: 1969 Make: Chevy Model: El Camino Mileage: 121,156 Transmission: 4-speed Engine: 1969 327 Exterior Color: Cream Interior Color: Black Title: Clear Description My '69 El Camino was built the second week of January, 1969 at the Fremont California assembly plant and was delivered with a 307, stick shift transmission, power steering and tinted glass. It's been repainted a few times during it's life, but it's never had any serious collision damage. The doors still close easily and the fit is excellent. It has a smooth, shiny, driver quality paint job and really looks good. The interior (with exception of the carpets) is original and has never been replaced. The dash pad, door panels and headliner are still presentable, although the seat is showing some wear from normal use. The engine is a '69 327 short block and is topped with a set of '71 LT1 cylinder heads. The engine and clutch have less than 10 K miles. It also has a Mallory HEI distributor and Heddman headers with Flow Master mufflers. Sometime during the 80's, the Rochester quadrajet was replaced with a Holly Economaster. It's smooth and responsive, but there is more potential still left in it. It steers and stops well, although it is still equipped with the factory manual drum brakes. There are many vendors here on Ebay who offer power disc brake conversions. It has been updated with a set of factory 15 x 7 Chevy rally wheels.
