Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my modified 1971 Chevelle. I bought it from the second owner and it has always lived in the desert. This car has never had rust! Between the previous owner and myself, we have probably over $50K in this car The motor alone cost almost $12000. The engine is a brand new Dart Iron Eagle 427 small block. It has less than 20 test miles on it and runs great! The rest of the drivetrain was built to handle big horsepower. The transmission, suspension, rear end, and brakes only have 2700 miles! This car looks great, runs great, and drives great, thanks to it's full AirRide suspension, Hotchkis swaybars, built rear axel, huge brakes, and racing transmission. The engine was built by Bill Wright Racing Engines. It started with a brand new DART Iron Eagle tall deck block. The crank is a TFS with a streetdampr balancer. The connecting rods are 'indestructible' 5.850 billet rods by Power Detroit. The pistons are JE. Double spiral locks were used on the wrist-pins. The oil pump is a high-volume Mellings. The camshaft is a Comp Cams 276 hydraulic roller. Aluminum CNC-ported AFR Eliminators heads. 1.5 roller rockers. The oil pan is a 7 qt. Hamburger. There is an extrernal oil filter system installed. The intake is an aluminum DART, and the carb is a nasty 950cfm Demon. The water pump is Meziere. It has a chrome Hitachi high-output 1 wire alternator, and a Hitachi high-torque mini starter. The ignition system consists of a MSD billet distributor, MSD Blaster 2 coil, and a MSD 6AL box. The plug wires are Taylor. The exhaust is made up of Doug's ceramic coated headers into an 'X' pipe with dual Flowmaster mufflers and ends in font of the axel. The radiator is an aluminum Ron Davis unit with dual electric fans with an aluminum shroud and overflow tank. All filters are K&N (air cleaner, oil filter and both valve cover breathers). This engine was built so it could still be driven on the street, so it has a very mild cam, 9.2:1 compression, and it runs on pump gas. Even though it is this mild, it still pushes out over 520 horsepower! With a more agressive cam and cylinder head tuning this engine will make 700 HP without nitrous, turbos, or a supecharger. There is only 20 miles on this motor! The transmission is a built-for-racing Turbo 400. It contains a Hughes Performance reverse manual valvebody and trans-brake. It also has a brand new Hughes 3000 stall converter. The driveshaft is new. The rear-end is a recently built 12-bolt with posi and custom 4.11 gears by AZ Differentials. The AirRide suspension has been built for handling. The front has tubular upper and lower StrongArm control arms and adjustable billet ShockWaves. The rear also has tubular upper and lower StrongArm control arms with CoolRide airbags and shocks. Brand new heavy-duty Hotchkis sway bars are installed in the front and rear. The suspension is controlled by either a digital controller in the car or by a wireless remote control. You have the ability to control each wheel independently or all wheels together, etc. It can also be programmed to automatically raise or lower to the car's ride height when the ignition is turned on. The wheels are staggered Foose Spank 5 with Kumho Ecsta tires. The front are 17"X7" and the rear are 18"X10". The brakes are CPP (Classic Performance) Big Brakes, which consist of huge 13" drilled and slotted rotors and high-performance calipers on all four corners. This system does incorporate an emergency brake. The car also has the big CPP brake master cylinder. The car was painted about eight years ago. It looks very nice but there are imperfections starting to show in the paint. Most are just from age and could probably be polished or buffed out. There are some chips on the hood and fender edges from the hood being removed and installed several times. Also there is some cracking in the paint on the driver's quarter panel and a little on the driver's door only. Overall the exterior looks super nice, but to be perfect the quarter and door and a few small spots here and there should be touched up, or the car should be repainted. As it is, the paint is probably better than most cars at your local car show. The bumpers are original and have not been rechromed. They are still very nice, but not as shiny as new chrome. The door handles are a bit sun faded. This is Arizona chrome, so no pitting anywhere. The stainless trim around the car is original and looks good. The glass is also original. There are no cracks, but there are some minor scratches from dry wipers, etc. All the sheetmetal is original except for maybe the cowl hood. This car has never, ever had rust! The floors are incredible! This car was not undercoated from the factory and the original red primer is still showing. Read the other ads and notice how many of them say 'new floors', 'new fenders'... not here! This is as rust free as a car can be! The top and interior were redone about the same time as the paint. The top is close to perfect; no rips, stains, etc. The interior is very nice and mostly new. The front seats are Corbeau Racing bucket seats. The car also has Corbeau Racing harnesses installed. The center console houses a B&M Megashifter with an integraded transbrake button. The AirRide digital controller is mounted in the center console compartment. The gauges are all AutoMeter Pro-Comp Ultra-Lites mounted in a Covan's Classic gauge surround. The rear side panels, headliner, package tray, kick panels, and dash are original. The door panels were replaced with new ones. The package tray is warpped from the sun and should be replaced eventually. The headliner is nice. The metal trim panels around the windshields have never been restored and they could use a little paint. Overall the interior is very nice. The trunk has never been recoated. All the Air Ride components and the Optima battery are mounted in the trunk. There has never been rust in this trunk! The engine compartment is pretty clean, but lacks the detail of a car that has had a frame-off restoration. The hood hinges and hood latches are original and have not been repainted. There are a few small things like that which when done could really put this car over the top. This car started life as a Chevelle Malibu and it is not a factory SS. It is not really a SS clone either, but it does look like a SS. The car came with factory AC, PS, and PB. All AC components on the inside of the car (controls, vents, heater core, ducts, etc) remain, but the part of the system on the engine side of the firewall was replaced with an AGM AC delete cover. The heater can easily be made to function by installing a blower motor for a non-AC car, but right now there is no working climate control. Currently the exhaust ends under the car. It sounds great this way, but maybe too loud for some buyers. The exhaust can be routed to the rear of the car like it came from the factory even with the air suspension. All the lights and turn signals work. This car can be driven the way it is. The exterior of this Chevelle looks amazing. The AirRide and Hotchkis suspension gives it a super aggressive stance, and also gives reliable street handling. The interior is very nice and functional. The AutoMeter gauges monitor the car's vitals without error. The seats double as comfortable driving seats and as track ready racing seats. The brand new engine is capable of racing, but also could be driven around comfortably. The rest of the drivetrain can handle that power, so you have no worries going into a corner, or trying to stop. Only 2700 miles on all the modifications, and 20 miles on the motor! This is a super nice, unrestored car. It can be driven or shown with pride exactly as it is. This car is sold with a clean and clear Arizona title. I do not have the original parts that have been removed, but the car will come with a few extras like; two brand new American Autowire harnesses (one engine harness and one front lamp front light harness), two pairs of new Corbeau harness pads, and a complete set of extra Taylor plug wires. This is my personal car and I am selling it becuase my wife and I are trying to raise money for a down payment on a house. I am not interested in trades. The buyer will be responsible for shipping costs, but I am willing to help with shipping arrangements. I glady allow inspection of the car before the auction's end. The car can be seen in the Glendale, AZ area. I can help with shipping to Sweden and I load one-two containers a month to Sweden. Please feel free to contact me for more information or for more pictures. I require a $1000 deposit within 48 hours of the end of the auction, and the remainder be paid within seven days of the auction's close. I will accept cash, wire transfers, PayPal, money orders, or cashier's check as payment. The car will not leave until the funds have cleared. I take pride in my 100% positive feedback and make every effort to keep it at that level. Therefore I ask that you please contact me with any and all questions you have before you make a bid. I will always try my best to answer all questions. Thank you and good luck.
