Vehicle Detail

This is an excellent original 53 olds 88. The car has been garage kept. It is, as far as I know, all original. I was told by a mechanic the car is very solid and unrestored, The interior is in excellent condition, It does have some worn areas. There is a small wear hole near driver handle on door panel. Other panels are mint. So is floor vinyl and door jams. There is a crack in the plastic seat cover and missing the adjustment knob (see pics) and some water stains on rear top of seat, It looks like the rear window leaked. I have washed the car and no water has seeped in, I also keep in in the garage so it has never been in the rain. The interior still has original seats, owner guides and working clock. The radio does not work. The headliner is original and in excellent shape. The body, as I mentioned, was told to me by a mechanic to be in excellent solid shape. There are no dents, but the paint has faded as well as the finish. There are some stains in the paint/finish and worn areas. The finish is getting dull. The primer is showing on spots on the roof. There are some areas that the paint has seemed to fade oddly or was touched up and blended at some point, I am not a paint expert so I am not sure. I included a pic of this. The roof has faded the most. There is no rust holes, but very minor rust specs, mainly near top of front headlight. The engine is near perfect, The engine block needs some cleaning and minor paint touch up. I was told that the engine is spectacular for the originality. The chrome can be polished up to look excellent. It is not perfect, some scratches and small pit areas, as well as on the emblems. The trunk is solid and all original. The undercarriage has some minor surface rust that cleans easily. A professional detail will easily restore this car to a nice clean car. The car runs like a dream, smooth and very quiet, in fact I get nervous it stalled because you can't hear the engine..just purrs. It has won some awards in local car shows and cruise nights,,,,mainly for unrestored originality, There is no power steering or brakes. This car does need some cleaning, and restoration.. but I was told from a local Oldsmobile club member, NOT TO TOUCH or RESTORE this car. That it was in great original shape. Again, I am going with what I have been told from a number of car guys. Please contact me with any questions you may have. I am selling this car for my uncle who is in need of medical care, so I will answer to the best of my knowledge. I encourage possible buyers to come and see this car, you shouldn't be disapointed.
