1978 PLYMOUTH SAPPORO / DODGE CHALLENGER . This car is very rare and you never see these at all on the roads anymore . These cars were made in Japan by Mitsubishi Motors and badged as Sapporos and Challengers in the USA from 1978 -1983 only . This car has only had one other owner since new it has 117k on it and still runs great it is a A/C car, 5spd manual with full instrumentation , No Idiot lights . When I bot this car it runs and drives very nice and has never been wrecked but needed Interior , Paint and vinyl top replaced .. And since then I have had the seats redone and they look great . These cars came with a half canopy vinyl roof with opera lights very 1980s look . So I have removed the Targa band and opera lights patched the holes and did a complete vinyl top on the car . So it is a real one of a kind .. It is still at the paint shop now and I will be getting it back next week . Then I will be putting on some trim accents and Challenger emblems on the fenders and one between the tailights .. These Sapporos and Challengers were indentical twins only minor trim and paint made them different .. This one will be a 1978 Challenger clone .. Some funny cars were designed by this body style and this car would be a ideal candidate for a V8 transplant such as a 360 stroker engine or other .. I will be happy to try and add photos of this car after I recieve back from my painter as long as Ebay lets me .. It will be painted the original gray color with gray interior that is already complete and a lighter gray full vinyl top that is already been completed .. Again this is a very rare car and not many at all left these days .. Dash and Headliner and door panels are great original condition . The A/C will need to be serviced as it blows but not cold , The CARB should be rebuilt soon or replaced with a Weber replacement many people did replace the original carbs with Webers .. I have put a lot of money into this car and now moving out of state I am selling at a reasonable price for all the work I have done but if I cant get what I want I will tow the car to my new home ,, Also I have painted the front grill black for more of the Challenger look and the wheels have also been painted black with wheel paint and I have added center caps and chrome beauty rings .. It will really look nice for a 32 yr old car . You can view this type of car on a website called msapporo.com if you go to the Plymouth part you will see the body style . Slight changes it is painted a beautiful dark green similiar in color to this font .. Turns out the gray did not match well .. I will still add the body trim to the car but will not badge the car as a sapporo or challenger ( emblems included in sale ) . I will leave that up to the new owner/buyer .. I am very happy with the cars apperance and surprised but actually like the dark green color with the gray top .. Since the paint and the way I described the grill ( black ) and the wheels it is really looking and leaning more toward the challenger look . I have only seen the pics so far on my phone which the painter had sent me . Car will be picked up Saturday .. If the auction has ended by the time I get it back and submit a load of pictures I will I repeat I will be relisting the car with a bunch of photos .. Please be patient ..
