1981 Mercedes 240D Don’t judge a book by its cover! This car is being offered with a vegetable oil conversion. This car will run on Straight Vegetable Oil, Waste Vegetable Oil, Biodiesel, Diesel, or a combination of any of these fuels. The single tank conversions are the easiest and most efficient way to run vegetable oil in your vehicle. If you are environmentally conscious, this is the vehicle for you. This car has a neutral carbon footprint. If you would like to do something about the Gulf Oil Spill, this is it. If you are trying to save money on fuel, this is the vehicle for you. This vehicle will pay for itself in a few years in fuel savings alone if you use free WVO. If you are tired of our dependence on foreign oil imports, this vehicle is for you. This car can be run on pure vegetable oil that is domestically grown and produced. Also you can rest assured that if you would rather run on diesel, you should get 500,000 miles plus on this car on diesel or oil. If you would prefer, the fuel system can easily be returned to its original specifications. I purchased the car from the previous owner in California and drove it back home to New Mexico. My plan was to run it on WVO collected from local restaurants. However, living is a small rural town, I have been unable to locate a reliable grease source, and have decided to drive our 45+ mpg Prius. Engine starts and runs strong (no smoke), manual transmission shifts flawlessly Interior is in overall good condition, (wear on driver’s seat shown in picture) Exterior needs work; paint is dull and peeling, dent on right front fender Dashboard has a form fitted plastic cover, and all of the gauges work Aftermarket Kenwood CD player Heat and blower work, A/C does not??? Tires have approximately 75% tread remaining Odometer reads 140,165; New Engine @115K Sunroof functions, as do all of the power windows Car has salvaged title, but is a great daily driver No rust, car was driven from sunny California to New Mexico Car has current registration and is titled in California Car is available for inspection by you or your mechanic, call to make arrangements I will also have the car for sale locally, and reserve the right to end the auction early.
