Vehicle Detail
Ok where do I start. This is the second jeep that I have rebuilt and I am finishing up my third, everytime I do something just a little bit better, new one has and automatic tranny, and I will keep it for a while. (I may be done now though, takes a lot of time away from family) I rebuilt this 82 CJ 7 three years ago. It was not a frame off but as close as you can get. I left the tub on and engine in but everything, I mean everything else came off. I took care of the typical rust areas, over the wheels and on the floor pans (new floor pans welded in) and rubberized the undercarriage. I have pictures if you are truly interested in buying I can forward them too you. ( I keep progress pictures while working on it). There are tons of new items on this jeep. Everything you see that is shiny is probably new, anything black may have been old part that I sandblasted and repainted. As you can see there are extra wide fender flares (besttopbesttopbesttopbesttopbesttop), new seats (Besttop), new rear seat fold and flip (besttop) new carpet, all new gauges, lights, heater pulls, switches, all Crown when I could find it. I tried to use stainless steel bolts, and screws, everywhere I could. This will come with two tops, both new. 1 bikini top that is a see through (very hard to find) and a soft top that is a sun seeker (I believe that what they call it) the top over the driver flips back like a sunroof. This is a pretty nice top but I never used it because I like the bikini top better. I only have the half doors shown in the pictures. The radio is really a cheap cheap cheapo, I like tunes but I don't need much to keep me happy in that area. It does play cd's but it's nothing to brag about. There are two 4 inch speakers in the dash and I put a set of wedges in the back. The wedges are very cool and make good use of otherwise wasted space. As you can see the tires are new. Brand new and $1000.00 by themselves, they have 1757 miles on them (I believe that is what the odometer reads), new skyjacker shocks and stabilizer. The engine is the original engine and has rougly 78,000 miles on it. It had 76,000 miles on the old speedo then I put the new one in and there you have it. Bullit proof 258 6 cylinder, new fuel pump, starter, alternator and most importantly new carb. I got rid of the crappy OEM and put a High performance Weber 38/36 I believe that is how it was jetted. Runs GREAT! I hope it is obvious that I built this to be reliable and virtualy an everyday driver. I only drive it on sunny days in the summer. tons of fun and a real head turner. The only thing that is weak on this jeep would be the paint job. I painted it with the help from a good friend and our paint booth was not up to snuff, plus it may have been too cold that day. The paint actually looks ok but there are spots that just aren't what I wanted. We did use good paint but just didn't get the gloss/shine that I was looking for. Check out my responses, I tell it like it is and have had the same account on Ebay now for a long time. This is truly a fantastic cj and I hope it shows that I built it to drive it and be proud of it. I wouldn't be selling if I didn't have another one just about done. Funny thing is I painted it the exact same color. Not much more to tell you. Thanks for looking and good luck. On Jul-22-10 at 08:40:15 PDT, seller added the following information: Ok, a lot of you have been asking if this has a hard top and doors. Yes it does but I have not finished restoring them yet so I didn't list them, but I will throw them in AS IS to sweeten the pot! They are not much to look at in the shape they are but at least you have them and they can be reworked and made very nice, believe me I've done it and with some time and effort they will look new again. I have all the glass and new seals for windows and rear hatch. The doors are steel and solid I have new inside panels but no seals for the doors yet but will point you in the right direction to get them. Anyway there you go. Thanks to all the lookers.
