Up for auction, is my 1986 Mercedes Benz 190D sedan. This car used to be my daily driver. This is the 5 cylinder 2.5 diesel non turbo engine. The engine starts up and the car runs. The transmission shifts and the brakes work. But since it has been sitting for a while, it needs some work to get it going. Would be a great projects car for restoration or parts car. I just put a new $150 Diehard battery in the car and it cranks up the first crank after having sit for a long time, pretty amazing. Tires are almost new, I would rate them 80%. The driver's side window doesnot go up. I had it taped but I was told buy the safelite glass guys that it is very easy to open the back panel and have the glass pull up. The switch needs to be change. Also, been sitting around for almost a year, the muffler fall out. As you can see in the last picture, the muffler itself looks fine, you probably need to reweld the pipe going into the muffler. Most of the stuff, I believe could be done personally instead of going to a mechanic. I use to have a 240D which was sitting for a while, but once the engine cranks up and the car is warm up, the transmission start to engage. I use to start it up but over the winter I forgot to take the battery out and that kills the battery life. Body does have some rust around the lower panel on both sides. The car is always been in Connecticut as it was originally bought new from Mauro Motors in Hamden (see the badge on the back picture) which currently is a huge Mercedes dealership in North Haven, CT. I think if someone wants to do biodiesel or vegatable oil, this car would be a great car to do it on. Also, the car has upgrade Bilstein performance struts and shocks and harder eibach springs.
