Vehicle Detail

1929 Ford Model A Coupe NO RESERVE This is a little 1929 Ford Model A 5 window coupe w/ Rumble Seat. I have had it for a bit, and have enjoyed having it around. It is a cool little car that runs good, and very drivable around town. It has a stock Model A engine, and 3 spd Ford Transmission. It starts right up and idles nicely, engine seems to be in great shape, I drive it all over town, and have a lot of fun with it. It has 1940 Ford Juice Brakes on it all the way around, which is a really nice upgrade for it. I just put on new Firestone Wide Whites on it, last week, with new Inner tubes. It has 4" White Walls, 7.00/16 out back, and 2 1/2 Whitewalls - 5.50/16 upfront Had the 1935 Ford Wheels sandblasted and powder coated red, and put on new 1932 Ford V8 Center Caps on it as well. This car you can take a couple ways from here, either, keep it a stock little model A, maybe hop up the engine a bit, I have heard that some folks these days, are taking these 40hp engines, and having them built adding 100 hp to them, that would be a great improvement. My plans were to put a Ford Flat head V8 in it, and build it into a tradition style Hot Rod. I wanted something, that looked like a kid would do back in the 40's or early 50's, lower it a bit, do a rubber rake, upgrade wheels, brakes, as time and money allowed, etc. I would like to finish it but time to let it go, and leave this little open canvas up to the next fella. The body is stock model A, it has old paint on it which give it a nice patina, with lots of chips and scratches. It was never an expensive paint job in the first place. The paint in general is about 25 years old, and has lots of patina, don't be fooled by the pictures, it is worn paint, but looks nice going down the road. It has some paint blisters and such from sitting around, but in my opinion I like it the way it is, I don't have to worry about parking it anywhere, if it gets a ding, or scratch I don't care, I don't like to have to baby sit my cars, just like to drive them and enjoy them. Some repairs were not great or correct to a purist, but it worked. It has some rust, mostly in the back. There are 2 sections that are cut out, basically where you would put your feet if you were sitting in the back in the rumble seat. You can see this in the pictures. There is also some at the bottom edges of the quarter panels, you can only see this pretty much under the car. There is some bubble forming, at the bottom of the piller behind the cowl on the drivers side. Underneath, it has some patches here and there, but for the most part is in pretty good shape for a driver. There is also some rust if you lift up the wood floors upfront, along were the body and the frame meet up, see picture. Again there is some general paint blisters and such on the car, this paint is old, there has been some touch up here and there through the years as well. Chrome on the car has some hazing, and pitting around the grill surround, the rear bumper chrome is falling off. It has rust bubbles across the rumble seat lid at the bottom edge. Engine is stock model A, and runs good. It probably needs some good maintenance done for the most part, before you take it on a long trip, I toddle it around town here and there, 5 miles here and there, and it does well. It is pretty much a 40-50mph like most model A's. It could use some suspension work, it is a typical wonderer. The gauges are not working in the instrument cluster, not sure why, and never really check into it, just drive it. The lights work, brake light works as well. It has Hydraulic brakes (juice brakes) out of a 1940 Ford, and they work great, what a great improvement. Has new tires, and restored original 1935 Ford wheels on it as well. The transmission shifts good for the most part, you can hear it going into gear, it doesn't grind, but makes a growl noise when you shift gears. Overall a good little dependable car, that I am sure someone is going to do some great upgrades to in the months ahead. It has a great start already, and wish I could keep it around and enjoy. I got another project that I am working on right now, that is taking all my attention, so this one is up for sale.
