Vehicle Detail
1978 Lincoln Mark V Diamond Jubilee 1978 Lincoln Mark V Gold Diamond Jubilee Edition. This is a very rare car. The odometer is showing 34K miles, but most likely is 134K miles. This car sold new locally and has never been out of the area. This is a southern car. So, the only rust you will find on it is a slight amount of surface rust at the edge of the vinyl top. There is no rust through of any kind. The underside is also clear of rust. The outside is in overall good condition. It looks like it has been repainted at some point in the past. It doesn't shine as well as it used to, but it is still in good condition. The gold vinyl top is in very good condition. The factory moonroof is also in excellent condition and does not leak at all. It opens and closes smoothly and quickly. The original remote mirrors were removed and replaced with power mirrors from a late 80's Town Car. They have not been wired up, but look very good and, more importantly, don't move when you close the door. They are also slightly bigger and have the convex passenger mirror. The inside is gold cloth and has bucket seats with a leather covered center console. The console lid and all console doors work perfectly. The interior is in very good condition and the leather covered dash is in excellent condition. The tops of the back seat were covered with a towel and the rear window was lightly tinted. So, there is no dry rot on them. Since this is a Mark V and the Diamond Jubilee Edition, it is loaded with every option offered including factory CB and moonroof. Everything works as it should. All window mechanisms have been checked out and lubricated. Both door lock actuators have been replaced with new ones. The original plush carpet is excellent. The factory 460 engine runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly. The carburetor has been replaced by an OEM one. The buyer should be able to drive this car to its destination as this was my daily driver. The AC is not currently blowing cold but will be by the time of sale. All components work, it just needs charging. All in all, the winning bidder will not be disappointed in this car. Here is your chance to own a truly nice example of a classic American luxury car. Good luck bidding. In all of my description, I have attempted to be as accurate as possible. Please check my feedback. This car is in great condition for its age. As with all of our cars (and especially for our Ebay cars), this vehicle will have a full safety inspection and a fresh oil change to insure that it is road-worthy for a long distance trip home. I truly believe the high bidder will be pleased with this purchase. Don't miss this chance to own a modern day classic luxury car. I have described this vehicle as completely as possible. However, I welcome questions and comments. You can contact us either through email, Ebay, or telephone at (864) 576-2458. Just ask for David. I can also take more photgraphs and send them to you if needed. Test drives and personal inspections are encouraged. Feel free to check our feedback and bid with confidence. Please note the following guidelines: I have to sell this car "as is with no warranty". High bidder is required to make contact me within 24 hours of the end of the auction. $500 deposit (cashier's check or money order) is required within 2 days of the end of the auction with the remaining balance due 4 days thereafter. If the high bidder does not satisfy the balance in the alotted time period and does not make prior arrangements, the $500 deposit is non-refundable and I reserve the right, at that point, to offer the vehicle to the second highest bidder. If I do not hear from the high bidder within 48 hours from the end of the auction, I reserve the right to offer/sell the car to the second highest bidder. Zero feedback bidders are welcome, but please contact me prior to bidding. I reserve the right to cancel zero feedback bids that have not done this. Please keep this in mind if you are a "last minute" bidder. This vehicle is listed for sale locally for $2800. We reserve the right to end this auction early if the reserve has not been met and it sells locally. However, once the reserve is met on the Ebay auction we will pull it from the lot. I have set the reserve at $2000. Please note that I will not end this auction early except under the circumstances listed above. Ending an auction early when the reserve has been met is unfair to the other bidders and, quite frankly, downright unethical. We would be happy to pick up the winning bidder at the local airport (Greenville Spartanburg International Airport), the local train station, or the local Greyhound station. I do not pad our prices with any "documentation" fees like so many other car dealers on Ebay do. Contrary to what many dealers will say it really doesn't cost much to fill out a couple of papers. SC buyers will need to pay standard taxes (sales and property when applicable). I can also help out of state buyers get a South Carolina temporary/vehicle in transit tag ($20). Finally, SHIPPING...we do not ship cars ourselves. However, we do have a local shipper who will ship within 500 miles or so for a reasonable and competitive price and can put you in touch with them. Please do not bid unless you are serious about purchasing this automobile. Good luck bidding.
